    FSWer's Public Skate Training Report...1/14/12

Ok my fellow Skaters!!!!...Here it is!!!...

I went to the Rink today with a Family I know. We got there a little after Noon (when Pulic Skate Started) and went to check-in at the Desk. I then went in to get my skates on...while my friends went to get theres. After we were all on the ice...my friend took pics of us all skating. We were sharing the Rink with a Birthday Party. So there was quite a Rink-full of Skaters!!!! I tried some spins and some Ice-Dancing. i also learned today that it's NOT EASY to skate with a little kid (my friend's kid LOL in this case) and keep BOTH of you balanced at the same time. Does anyone have any tips n how o do this right? Thanks.

Were you holding the little kid's hand? That's hard, because the kid is so much shorter. When you have to reach down for their hand, it can pull you off balance. I help little kids by skating behind them and holding them underneath both their arms. I have to keep my feet pretty wide apart, and bend my knees A LOT to make myself shorter. Even so, it's really hard on my back! When I take my little grandson skating, I have to keep trading him back and forth with my daughter because our backs get so sore.

    FSWer's Off-Ice-Training Report 1/19/12

Ok my fellow Skaters!!! Here it is....

Back-Leg-Lifts = I have gotten stronger in both Legs.

Stomach-Leg- Lifts = I got my Right Leg Super High today.

Spiral-Leg-Lifts = I think I got my Left Leg higher. I tried to use the mirror in my Bathroom today to see how high my Legs REALLY went. But I don't believe that there's enough counter in my Bathroom to get my Legs back enough. So I had to do them in my Kitchen.

Kick-Ups = I got my Legs the higest they'd go. I've been trying to lean back while doing my Kick-Ups (or Leg-Lifts) to get my Legs even higher. But I can't do it.

My Push-Ups and Sit-Ups are both getting easier.

Sit-Toe-Touches = Touched my toes on my Left Foot.

I also started a new Off-Ice-Training excerise today. I'm doing Back-Ups. Upside- Down Push-Ups. Which I find easy to do. What do you all think my Friends? I want all your opinions on how I've been doing with Off-Ice-Training,and how far do you all think I've come with it and as a Skater all around?

FSWer, I have no idea what a "back-up" is. I've never heard of that exercise, so I can't tell you how to do it right. What is it you are trying to do?

I still don't understand. Are you lying on the floor? Where are your hands? I've been in a lot of exercise classes, and we've never done anything like that.

Try maybe doing Tricep Dips - you'll need a chair to do these. Sit towards the front of the chair, put your hands next to your hips, and hold on to the front of the chair seat. Scoot your bottom off the seat of the chair, so you're supporting your weight with your arms on the chair seat and your feet on the floor. Lower your bottom straight down towards the floor, then push with your arms on the chair seat to lift yourself back up again. Don't sit on the chair each time - see how many times you can lower and lift back up before you have to take a rest. You can make the exercise harder by moving your feet farther out in front of the chair. That makes more weight go on to your arms.
