I use gmail all the time and have not seen that message. My gut feeling is that it is a scam.

Looks like Phishing to me--they would never ask for your password in an email. I have Gmail and I haven't gotten anything like this.

Scam! Good catch - too many people just give them the info. I'd suggest you report it to Google.

I'm pretty sure it is too. Just wanted to know if anyone else had encountered it. I use gmail all the time. I have accounts with gmail and a couple of other IPs. Another thing that seemed strange to me was the password and the BIRTHDAY. Gmail does not have my birthday in their account set up.

If you search that phrase in google there are lots of hits of it being a scam.

In unrelated news I will need your bank account info and password.

I always consider emails that request personal information (especially account passwords) to be not legit. Even if they don't request such info, if they have a number of obvious grammar, punctuation and/or spelling mistakes (as per the email cited in the OP) I don't consider them valid.

I doubt that came from Google. Never give your password to anyone who asks; it's useless to most companies.

Yes, a real alert would direct you to change your Gmail password.

Any email that requests your personal info or password is 100% bogus.
