She's dressed Miki Ando, Irina Slutskaya (oh how I love that fantastic catsuit!), Pang and Tong, Michael Weiss, Ina and Zimmerman, Jeremy Abbott, and many many more. All from a tiny but lively studio in Manhattan. Tania Bass has been making quality costumes for ballroom dance and theater since the 1970s, and got into the skating world about 2 decades later. Her website is www.taniabass.com. Her dress for Sarah Hughes was featured on the cover of Time Magazine in 2002. She talks about how she got started in the business, what goes into a great dress, and how many Carmen dresses she’s had to make over the years (that poor woman!).
The interview is just under an hour long, and is available at my website. It will be at the iTunes Store shortly.
As always . . . thanks for listening!
