I am still holding out a hope that I can make some of the skating and I only live an hour away from London. Here's to good thoughts.
Crazy about sports!
I had friends that found a good deal at a B & B in London a few years ago for a skating competition. Can't remember which one, but she raved about their accommodations.
I bought a 12- ticket package but will not go to th practice and qualifications. Anybody want to buy them? I'd like to sell them at 80 percent of cost (haven't got the tickets yet but just think some people might want to plan ahead)
I will drive from Toronto on March 13 and back on the 17th. stay at Holiday Inn and Suite at Exeter/Wellington, one of the preferred hotel of the event. Anybody wants to share the ride and any nice straight female avid skating fan(s) would like to share the room(2 queen beds) ? not just to cut cost but more importantly share the joybtw, I got a special rate that is much cheaper than the website offers.
Please PM me if you are interested in either the tickets or the ride and/or the room
See you in London for the World. This is my first World and I'm very excited!

We are in the same hotel as well. Would consider sharing the ride on the 13th and back on the 17th. Would definitely consider sharing taxis/parking costs to and from the rink each day.I will drive from Toronto on March 13 and back on the 17th. stay at Holiday Inn and Suite at Exeter/Wellington, one of the preferred hotel of the event. anybody want share thr ride and any nice straight female avid skating fan(s) would like to share the room(2 queen beds) ? not just too cut cost but more importantly share the joy btw, I got a special rate that is much cheaper than the website offers.
Wow, that's super! Sounds like no lonely long driving anymore, and no need to worry about going back to hotel at night! h
I'll PM you now so that we don't need to go through a dozen pages to find each otherNo pressure though, just like take a note.
PS: just tried to send you message but not sure if it was successful. anyway I've added you to my contact listThanks for showing the interest of sharing!

Guys you are expert, I need an advice !!
Flighing to Toronto
could you suggest the cheaper way to go to London ?
car ?
bus ?
train ?
thank you !!!
I have no idea about the cheapest but bus may be the cheapest.
There is a bus, but I think you have to go into downtown Toronto to get on it. You definitely have to go to downtown Toronto to get the train.
There are shuttle services (vans) that run from the Toronto airport and which will take you directly to wherever you are staying in London. This is probably your best choice if you don't want to drive yourself.
A car may not be too expensive, depending on what kind of deal you can get from the rental companies.
I would have been here sooner, but the bus kept stopping for other people to get on it. - Sheldon Cooper, The Big Bang Theory
There are two shuttle services that rum from Toronto Pearson Airport to London--Aboutown and the Robert Q. IMO, Aboutown is preferable because it makes less stops than Robert Q and gets you there faster.
Aboutown takes about two hours and will drop you in downtown London. The fare is $54 each way.
thank you to everyone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this it's a big help !!
A word of warning for those planning to drive or take a limo from Toronto to London. Hwy 401 can be treacherous in March, and has been closed on occasion due to blizzards, white outs, icy pavement, etc.
For locals who have good winter driving skills it can be a challenge, for others, terrifying.
Ok, I checked the train fare : you can get $41 one way. Google VIA
I know the schedule has not been announced. But looking at last years - the short programs did not start until Wed. Has it been that way for awhile now. ?? thanks
London is not the greatest for this event. The drive from Toronto to London is one of the worst in terms of traffic, trucks, road conditions, etc. You may try staying a bit closer in Kitchener or Sarnia? The drive would be against traffic assuming travel in the mornig to London and to Toronto in the evening which might save some time.
Snow storms can come up quite quickly in this area as it is adjacent to Lake Huron. I was stranded in London one night when Canadians were held there back in 2005.
As soon as L learned it was going to be in London, I knew it would be t.v. for this Worlds. Too much hassle otherwise IMHO.
