We just ordered tickets last night and got lower bowl seats and we got rooms at 2 different hotels (we will cancel one) .. one at the Ramada and one at Quality Inns including free breakfast. Compared to where I am from (Ottawa, Canada) these hotels are cheap. You'd never find those prices here and we're not Toronto by any means.
I believe these two hotels still have rooms if anyone is still interested.

With the limited number of rooms in Londo, it would've been helpful to have a central housing group to handle all the hotel requests fairly. I still don't understand how London won the bid with such a small arena and being so far off the beaten path.
I don't get the argument about the small arena. Apparently the arena in Nice only holds 7,800 people. JLC holds 9,000. There have been plenty of championships in Europe and Asia that have been held in smaller venues than 9,000. It's not like skating is exactly selling out huge NHL arenas in North America lately.

I also don't consider London so far off the beaten path either. It's a two hour drive from two major cities (Toronto and Detroit).

I think all the hotel/parking/transportation issues being discussed show it's not the ideal place to hold a big event like this.

Um. These are college kids- aged mainly 18-22. I imagine their parents are back in whatever town they come from or are doing whatever parents with grown up kids (who are legally adults) do.
I know. But I do not approve. And I am not resigned.

Washington Law is a bit murky as far as stopping felonies outside the home.
The letter of the law gives you permission to use deadly force to do this but I would never reccommend it unless you are protecting someone's person. Oddly, civilians have a bit more power in using deadly force than the police do, if you read the RCWs....

I have had to pull my gun twice in my life, when people tried to enter my car when I was in it....both times, they decided it wasnt worth and left.
Unfortunately, WA state is full of gangs that work the the drug trade that comes down from Canada and gets distributed from here....I dont blame Canada....not my intent....but after 30 years working for police depts, you see alot.....

Call the Ramada and Quality Inn directly as well as any other hotels.

Rafter I don't have a problem with the arena but I do question the accomodations. There isn't a lot of choice and it's important to have accomodation close to the sporting venue.

I also find it strange that when you purchase tickets that for a lot of the events you're assigned different sections and seats. This is the first skating competition that I've bought an all inclusive and haven't sat in the same seat. I don't get that at all.

Judy, you were too late to get an all event package with same seat tickets.
Now all they have is catch as catch can "all event" and three event packages.....hope they gave you a few good lower seats!
    Single events to come....
"The all-event ticket package that guarantees the same great seat for the week will no longer be available as of March 17, 2012. A 12-ticket pack will be available in its place for the same cost of $1,200 and $1,000, plus HST and applicable surcharges. The package includes tickets for all practices, both qualifying days and all short and free programs as well as the Exhibition Gala but does not guarantee the same seat for each event. "
In some ways, you might have been lucky....you might have landed a seat for an event closer than row 15.....

Oh, we will be fine....you wont mind holding my spotting scope a bit!
It will be a grand old time. Did you see the guy at Nice beating a huge drum just as the German pair came out for the ice for the free skate? The poor lady in front of him had to hold her ears....I will send you and your sister a pic...it is hilareous....

You do have to admit it would be a hoot if Judy got some 4th row seats in her package......

Nope. But I do understand the need for disaster planning, as I call it. My friend is driving. I have a disability permit so hopefully we'll be able to park. And if I find any FSUers at the 3 events I'm attending, I promise to give you a ride! Weeeee!

I don't mind not being too close either though .. I know I'm a bit late getting tickets but I never thought to check the dates as worlds is usually held at a time when I wouldn't be allowed away from work. I'm just happy that I'm going

FYI... As of today you can book all 3 Holiday Inn hotels in London for the week of March 10 - 17. I just booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express, which is within walking distance (1 km) of the arena. The other 2 hotels are out by the mall.

How much are the rates? Breakfast? I'm off to bed otherwise I'd go check.

    I'm reconsidering going after all.

However, I won't know for sure until Sept. Does anyone know if there are likely to be good seats left at that point, or is it best to wait and buy it from someone who ends up not going after all (there are always a few of those).

And I gather it is best to book a hotel now?
