skatingfan04, I have taken the VIA train between London and Union station in Toronto, and it is very easy. The train station in London is just a few blocks from the arena.

^^^ I agree with that recommendation. I'm actually planning to take the train from Ottawa to London, via Toronto.

This is a totally silly question, but do people from the Ontario region get a discount on tickets or are they the same prices all around?

The above website seems to indicate there should be single event tickets starting at $20... Would that be to the practices?

It must be, although I see no practice tickets listed as being on sale. Or perhaps it is a typo. It looks like the lowest individual EVENT ticket is $90.

well considering GP event individual tickets range from 35 to 55$ for only 12 skaters.. it's in the normal range - as the flights are a lot bigger at worlds so seeing a lot more skating

The men's long, upper bowl, is $185 per ticket. So much for the idea of going for one or two events.

I just can't see a casual fan being interested in paying that much.

From what I know, the $20 ticket is practices at Western Fair. There is no reusable promotion password for Worlds ticket, but there was a promo code from September, that if you bought tickets for Skate Canada International in Windsor, you got a promo code for discount on single tickets for worlds based on how many SCI tickets purchased. Buy two SCI tickets, get two one-time only promo codes for Worlds. So in a way this might be a discount for Southwest Ontario because they're more likely to go to both events. But otherwise, there's no special deals that I know of. The SCI/Worlds discount was sent to Skate Canada members but wasn't exclusive to them.

From what I can see, it looks like the cheapest you can get for Skate Canada this year is $30 for both the Pairs AND Ladies SP, so two events (totalling 20 skaters/pairs).

So $90 for just the Pairs SP is a 300% mark-up from what they are charging for the GP event.

Yes, it is Worlds and yes (I think) that makes it more special but...

Hopefully this isn't the last World's I'm able to afford.

Between the jacked up hotel costs and the jacked up ticket prices for Worlds 2013, I feel abused and bitter. I'm going, but I resent this profiteering so much that I kinda wish that I wasn't.

You do realize that the all event packages went for almost $1400 (including fees & taxes)? What were you expecting single tickets to cost? Comparing GP events to Worlds is like comparing apples to oranges.

I'm trying not to think of what I spent on tickets this morning (especially since they're not good seats), and I'm only going to the ice dance FD. Between that and the train, yeesh.

    I'm still insanely excited, though.

I have posted in the "Tickets for Sale/Wanted" thread lower bowl tickets to the Ladies SP, Ladies LP and Gala.

Please see post #39 for more info.

Yes, I have an all event ticket, so I know what the tickets cost. And no I would not consider comparing a GP event to Worlds like comparing apples to oranges, especially considering the number of skaters the ISU is wanting to limit at Worlds while getting rid of the preliminary rounds.

Tickets were half that price when Canada last hosted Worlds in 2006 (and there was not a dearth of hotel space either) and are about 30% more expensive than last year in Nice. Sorry, but while the sport and world economies are struggling, I think that is crazy (even though I'm still going).

ITA. MamaHabs and I had every intention of going to Worlds in London, but the ticket prices were a non-starter.

I wanted to go--and and planned to - for the entire competition.
However, when I looked at Airfare/Hotel/All-Event/Incidentals I couldn't afford it.
    I'm very sad...Planning on Boston 2014, instead.

Are there any "All event same seat packages availabile" left to buy as of Oct 16 2012? IS THERE A PASSWORD I WOULD NEED TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE ALL EVENT TICKETS?

I went to the website and it seemed they only showed options for single ticket or the flex ticket packages, I would only consider going if I could buy 2 all event tickets...

I think I found one of the only hotel rooms left at an affordable rate close enough to arena, so I booked the Days Inn at $160.65+$20.88TX a day rate, as my only other option was $1,295 A DAY- yikes at some kind of spa and much farther distance from the arena. Hey, I can always cancel the hotel if I can't find tickets... What to do what to do...Any suggestions?
