At every ISU championship event that I have attended hosted in Canada, an all event ticket permitted one to attend any/all of the practices. I do not recall if this applied to individual ticket purchases.

In general I recall practices are always quite well attended. The policing of seats is also not as strict so it is a great chance to sit closer to the ice than during the event itself.

Did you book over the phone? Right now, on line you can't go beyond mid-December 2012

I had an all-event ticket in LA in the upper bowl and I know I paid nowhere near $1200.00. I think it was more like 500.00. My seat was not great, but watching all the practices WAS. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. But I could never have gone at the current prices. I find it insane that they are charging this amount.

I also find the ticket prices insane. I would have love to have gone, but it's just unreasonable. IMHO, Skate Canada made a very poor decision and hopefully they will learn that the difficulties in finding hotels and the high prices/reducing demand for the tickets does not create interest or help a sport grow. Not that I think the seats will be empty, the people of London are skating fans who will fill the building and I'm glad that they will enjoy this event. But so many people who would have traveled to the event will not be there. Such a wasted opportunity -- to have world in Canada a year before the Olympic Games and limit the event in so many ways. There were so many other options. Very sad.

I hate that they are only releasing the schedule in the fall. It makes so hard to plan for those planning to buy single event tickets.

What's a skating fan to do??? Tickets go on sale next week and I called several hotels only to be told that they are only taking reservations for groups. Individual rooms are available after March 17! Oh well I can watch it on TV.

So, I just took a look at the link that luckiest1 provided, and I didn't notice a date for ordering. I had recieved an email from SkateCanada a while back indicating that tickets would not be available to the general public until Feb 10th. Does anyone know if we can order now?

No, you can't order until 2/10.

    http://www.airbnb.com/

I have many friends who've used this service, and have used it myself.

Try the Country Inn- a number of us have reservations there. It's walkable to the arena if you are a walker.
I know. But I do not approve. And I am not resigned.

My sister lives in London and her place is walking distance to the John Labatt Centre. It is a lifelong dream to attend Worlds, so I hope that I can afford a single event ticket. The whole event is out of the question, but a single event might be doable. I am torn between men's LP and pair's LP.

As some of us have said, it's not all Skate Canada's/ISU's fault at the out of this world ticket prices. We in Ontario now have a Harmonized Sales Tax and skyrocketing prices on everything is now our Reality sadly.

It's made us feel very thankful for all the work we put into our garden this past summer.

As far as somewhere to stay...The Ambleside Inn B&B is a beyond fantastic place to stay at. Peggy and Tom treat you like one of the family and when you get up from her Breakfast table, you don't have to worry about lunch for a very long time afterwards.

I've stayed there several times over the years for both skating and medical appts and would go back in a heartbeat if I had to go to London for something.

Just putting Peggy and Tom's place out there for both a suggestion and to let those interested know about them.

I am torn between buying all event tickets and trying for individual tickets once they become available. It is unlikely that we'll attend sessions early in the week but definitely want to attend all the SP/SD and LP/FD sessions. Does anyone know the likelihood of being able to pick up individual tickets for all of those events and what the ticket prices will be? Would it be safer and just as cost effective to buy the all event tickets?

I'm going to do the same most likely. I may stay there for a night or two. When can we know the schedule? I hope they have all the LPs and gala together.

If you are a member of Skate Canada, check your e-mail. There is a notice for a pre-sale starting tomorrow.

Would any nice Skate Canada members care to share that with me?
