both are seasoned ice dancers who placed high on both the national and international scenes with their previous partnerships. I would think that would help in the development of the team. And I think that their camp and the USFSA would take that into consideration when accepting the assignment

Exactly - they are not going there to win but to get back on the ice, get experience as a couple and remind the World that they are in the running as well!!
I cannot wait to see them together!!
Emily has missed being on the competitive ice according to Gramps and we missed her!

Great News! Did not think we would get to see them before Nationals. This will be great exposure for them...feedback from international judges before Nationals can only be a good thing. Go S/G!!!
