I got to know David very well during the time we both lived in Dallas. Some of my favorite moments was getting together with him and our friend Erik to watch skating, especially the 1998 Olympics.
I'm going to miss him very much. He was a true friend, very knowledgeable about all kinds of sports and I loved our phone chats about college football, the NFL (maybe his beloved Lions will win it all this year), swimming, and tennis.
Rest in Peace, David. I never forget our friendship.

I was emailed this very sad news this morning by a mutual friend. I never got to meet David in person - something I shall always regret - but thanks to chance and some mutual acquaintances, enjoyed many years of sharing skating footage and chatting about the history of the sport together. He knew sooo much about the sport and we are the poorer for his passing. I'm just so shocked at this news. Too young. May he rest in peace and all my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
RIP David. I will miss you
