I always smiled to see his username, it's sad to lose a fellow FSUer. RIP CaptCrunch and condolences to his family.

I started reading David's posts on rssif and enjoyed his contributions. RIP, David. Far too young.

Thought I'd replied to this but I'd only copied the thread around various forums.

RIP David, will miss reading you.

I am also hit with the hard realization after Skate America that I won't be able to exchange emails with David dishing on what just went down during the competition. I know he's up there somewhere booing Cinquanta and pulling pranks on corrupt ISU judges.

It's either a very big ice rink, or there's a lake under there.

Oh jeez, I knew David (online) from SkateFans way back in the day. I can't believe this. I'm trying to wade through the thread over there to learn more. (Was it a heart attack?)

He was always delightfully opinionated and so passionate about the sport. A really bright guy. I enjoyed reading his reviews of events even if I didn't always agree.

I recall exchanging some e-mails with him quite awhile back too. (IIRC I learned then that he was orginally from my hometown area.)

You know you've been online a long time when you feel the loss of people you barely or didn't know at all in RL. (I still think about Sandra Gentry, whom I did know personally.)

David, RIP. You will be so missed.

his passing continues 2011's streak as the sh*ttiest year ever.
I'm afraid to ask if there are other longtime skatefans whose death I haven't heard about, or are you referring to other things.

What I know is David was on the phone with a friend and she suddenly heard what sounded like choking noises and she immediately called 911 and David's sister who lived nearby and when she got there he was gone. But the details I have received have been very sketchy from brief emails from mutual friends. I think they are going to autopsy to find out cause of death. He also had a twin brother (I think twin) who was a sport's agent in NYC for IMG at one point. His family was close and he had lots of friends.

Has anyone seen an obituary for him? I don't see one through Google, but sometimes they don't pull up too easily.

Didn't know CaptCrunch personally, but it's always sad news to lose one of our own. RIP, CaptCrunch.
