I think Laetitia (sp?) Hubert wore a green dress at one of the competitions in the 1990's. Not sure if it was the 1992 Olympics or a bit later.

About the blues (without any gold on the costume) that won-

BTW last night I was watching my G&G compilation and was amused to see that they wore light blue costumes in 1988 Oly and navy blue in 1994 Oly. Of course in their case color of the costume could not have been the deciding factor.

Grishchuk-Platov wore blue outfits for the 1998 FD (Memorial), I think.

She wore a green dress for her SP to 'The Piano' soundtrack in 1998.

Kristi Yamaguchi wore green for her SP too in 1991, the first year she won Worlds.
I hear outside a million panicking birds, and know even out there comfort is done with; it has shattered even the stars, this creature at last come home to me.

1992 Olympics : orange for the SP, and white for the LP (it was blue at Junior Worlds and Worlds)

G&G wore navy blue in their '94 Olympic LP? I could've sworn all these years their costumes were black with a with trim around the collar like a priest!

I saw them in those costumes when I went to COI later that year and they were navy blue (of course I knew that when I watched them on TV. Seemed like midnight blue).

Did you have a crappy color tv circa '94 too?

I do remember that I loved the simple elegance of G&G's costumes-although the white trimmed color DID remind me of a priest's collar !-and for once I enjoyed Sandra's commentary regarding what their "Moonlight Sonata" program represented.
It makes me sad since now we all know how their love story ended.

I heard Tracy's commentary on that program when they first skated it at Skate Canada- what the three parts of the program represented. I don't remember what Sandra said; if it was anything different.

I may be confusing Tracy with Sandra!

Unfortunately made them look a little heavier than their GP costumes did. (Still should have won the bronze of G&G though!)

I hated the costumes but they deserved the bronze. I really miss them. They were my fave dance team.

how did their OD only get fourth place? I thought it was the most authentic latin dance of the competition. most of the teams were doing ridiculous burlesques of real latin dancing whole D/S had the real thing.

masofs, I miss them too. I've had a hard time keeping interest in ice dance without them.

Those costumes don't shock me. Maybe too heavy, but the gloves are interesting and his costume is good on him.

Yuna presented her then-new gala "Gold" by Linda Eder in GPF 2008 galas for the first time. Her costume was black dress with gold beads surrounding her torso which was gorgeous but she got the silver in that event. Few months later, however, we all know what she'd done in Worlds 2009

She also wore a green dress in her Ben gala from her junior seasons http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmlfUEuJV64
