12-year-old boy delivers own baby brother

"I'm not a doctor, but I watch them on TV."

I heard him interviewed on the radio yesterday, and he was so matter-of-fact about it all. Talk about calm under pressure!

Holy cow. We had friends who were living on Bowen Island [right next to Vancouver Island] at the time of their last pregnancy and they were rather anxious about being able to get to a hospital (ferry needed) when she went into labor. (All went fine.)

To me, the real wonder is how she SLEPT through hard labor. I guess if it's your fourth, well. . .

I saw him, his mother, and his baby brother on the news last night. He was definitely matter of fact about the whole thing, including helping with the delivery of the placenta. He thinks he wants to be a doctor

He surely has all ability to become a doctor! We just had similar case here in Finland, only it was 12-year-old girl who hepled her mother in childbirth. Brave kids!
