When skaters choreograph their programs, sometimes even the jumps seem beautiful and artistic when performed. What male skater has managed to do this with the triple loop either in a competitive program or an exhibition?

The loop is one of my favorite jumps because I think it is can blend into the choreography more seamlessly than the other jumps. No examples for you, but I love to watch someone pop a 3loop up out of no where.

I tend to associate the loop more with the ladies as the guys focus more on the 3axel and quad. The more impressive ones for me came from skaters like Czako, Harding and Butryskaya had a great one.

Aussie Willy, I have fond memories of Butyrskaya's triple loops myself, however, even though the loop is no glorious jump for the guys to brag about, I am sure we could dig up a few worthy examples to admire.

The 3 loop was used effectively in Kulik's Aladdin free skate from 96. It was usually big and airy and placed right on the musical climax.

It's impressive to do a difficult 3-3 combo like this so late in the program.

I always admired Lambiel's 3Loop. It had great height and distance, and always well-timed to music.

I actually think the back entrance with no free foot assist on the take-off make the loop a difficult jump to incorporate seemlessly into the choreography. Rare is the skater than can just pull the 3loop out of nowhere from footwork or MITF; It's usually very predictable when the skater is preparing for the jump.

My pick is for John Curry in his 1976 Olympic free skate. That loop is timed so perfectly with the music.

I remember reading in his picture book autobiography, explaining how Guss Lussi got John to learn the triple loop on the figures rink at the Broadmoor.

Much as I would love to say Elena Liashenko (who would take about half the rink length to prepare and never get it), my ladies' vote is for Yuka Sato. It really was her money jump.

The "R" is for "[Werner] Rittberger", who invented the jump.
