I don't stray too far from the CW. I predict Lepisto, Nagasu, and Makarova. I think Lepisto and Nagasu are 'hungry', so perhaps those 2 in Gold and Silver position.
I picked Mirai Nagasu, Laura Lepisto and Ksenia Makarova. They have the talent and the experience.
If it's fixed, there's no point in guessing.![]()

It's hard to say, because this competition is like Inconsistent Ladies, INC.
They could either be great or bad. I chose Nagasu, Gedevanishvili, and Makarova. I don't think Lepisto will medal in her first competition in over a year, but who knows?
Why is Wagner not on your list? She is on the Nebelhorn roster. I pick:
1. WAGNER my original choice until I realized she's a substitute (!)
New list:
1. LEPISTO
2. NAGASU
3. HECKEN
5. MAKAROVA
5. GEDEVANISHVILI

Ashley Wagner - America's Champion and PRIDE. How sweet it is!
I voted Lepisto, Makarova, and Nagasu. If Wagner is in, she gets my vote over Makarova.

I was surprised to see Mirai skating at Nebelhorn. Where does this event rank in international events?

01. Lepisto
02. Nagasu
03. Makarova
04. Helgesson V.
05. Gedevanishvili
06. Helgesson J.
07. Kokubun
08. Silete
09. Forte
10. Lafuente
11. Hecken
12. Kwak
I like the roster.. that could very well be a Grand Prix event.
Lepisto - Markarova - Nagasu would be my standing from the first to third. I do hope Gedevanishvili do better at this season than she did at the last season.
I think Laura will be a little rusty after more than a year off from competition. Mirai has a peaking pattern; the more she competes, the better she gets so I'm expecting a better performance from her at this event. Makarova is a solid skater so I'd expect her to do decently as well.
Given Laura's hiatus and Mirai's prior outing at Glacier Falls, I'm going to say:
1. Nagasu
2. Lepisto
3. Makarova
As for the rest, it's a bit of a grab-bag of skaters. Elene G. can be amazing, but she is known for imploding beyond redemption. The Helgessons are relatively solid skaters as well...Kwak can be a pretty skater but a combination of nerves and injury have stunted her reputation with the judges...Sarah Hecken has been around for a while...Yretha Silete has big jumps and Shion Kokubun isn't too bad from what I saw from her on the JGP last year...
I'd say one of the Helegessons and possibly Elene G. may get 4th and 5th...the rest is up in the air...
can someone link a video of shion kokubun? i've never heard of her prior making this thread, and i only added her because she had the highest scores of the ladies yet.
i think it's going to be (1) Mirai Nagasu, (2) Laura Lepisto, then (3) Ksenia Makarova.
but Ksenia sometimes implodes easier than Mirai and this last season to make an impression on the Russian skating federation means more pressure for her.
If she does implode the bronze will go to my personal favorites: Min Jeong Kwak, Joelle Forte, and Elene G
but Sarah Hecken did surprise me at Worlds this year. and politics are on her side...
