Dear Artemis...I know how you feel all too well. I lost my precious Bandit just 7 months ago, but it feels like yesterday. Treasure your memories and let yourself cry when you need to. Big hugs!

I'm so sorry, it's never easy to lose a loved friend. I'm glad she had a life full of love and didn't linger in pain.

(Artemis) I'm so sorry for your loss. My cat is only about 6 or 7, but I don't want to think about her ever dying. You had a wonderful friendship with her from the sounds of it, and the memories will last forever.

Aw, thank you all for your kind words and wishes. I'm trying hard to focus on the memories of 19 wonderful years, and not the last 2 miserable days ... but it's hard. I'll get there though, I know it.

Her name was Sasha by the way, I realized I forgot to say that earlier. Mind you she hardly ever got called "Sasha" she had so many nicknames -- boo-boo, bunny, muffin, schmoopie, sushi-breath, monkey-paws, furball ...

I'm sorry for your loss, Artemis. One of the saddest deaths I've been through was the one of my beloved dog. Losing a pet is tough.

Hugs, Artemis and RIP Artemis's kitty.

She had a goodly life for a cat and was well-loved.

I've got an 18 year old cat who is declining. She's become somewhat senile and has something going on in her nasal tract that the vet couldn't identify and antibiotics couldn't fix - sneezes a lot and sometimes sneezes blood.

Knowing she's reaching the natural end of her life makes every day with her a little more precious.

Your little friend will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge, Artemis. You had nineteen wonderful years. You must have been a loving and responsible pet-parent to have had Sasha for so long a time. I also have a Sasha and she and I wish comfort to you and to your Sasha...peaceful rest. Sleep, beautiful kitty. You did well.

So sorry to hear this. Losing any beloved animal is hard, but losing your first cat is especially hard. You had the perfect first cat and she paved the way for your next feline companion. My first cat was perfect, too, and my second cat was born the same year she died, so I felt like they were connected somehow. Hugs.

    Artemis, I'm so sorry.
May the great memories of a long and wonderful life with Sasha comfort you.
    (((((Hugs)))))

When the time is right, I hope that another cat will "gallop" into your loving heart.
