Oksana Baiul's flamenco short program from 1993...the beginning makes me swoon.... And Angela Nikodinov's Just For You short from 2001.

Adams gentle glide on one skate in the opening of Cinema Paradiso is just beyond beautiful.

One of my favorites is the opening of Sasha's "Malaguena."

Talking about exhibition, Michelle Kwan's East of Eden had something special :

I agree on 100%. I think A/P should be clearly 3 time world champions, it's incredible they have only one title.
Back to the topic, I think A/P had very spectacular opening choreographies and especially starting positions from 1998 to 2002. Carmina and Liberta ones were very interesting as well
And Blanc/Bouquet had always great choreography, not only opening![]()
Jeffrey Buttle's "Aararat" 2008 when he won Worlds. He is so graceful and did a perfect program.
No love for the masters of the get-your-attention-opening lifts, The Siudeks. One of the few of the many skaters to use music to The Mission effectively. You know you've got the audience when the applause starts before the program even begins.
When hugging a grammar nazi, I always say "there, their, they're."
Gotta miss the Siudeks and their out-of-this-world lifts. Sorry for going a bit off-topic here, but the lifts in this video are so breathtaking! Just look at the entrances! and the effortless changing of positions. Damn, I wish today's teams would watch some of their performances and learn, the lifts now got far less exciting.
G/P, the opening to "Time To Say Goodbye" exhibition.

Is it bad that this is one of my favorite pieces of opening choreography?![]()
Just to add to the list of A/P programs:

I love the moment when he lifts her up. So light and graceful. Miss them![]()
Todd Eldredge - first 10 seconds of "Gettysburg" - exquisite.
