Sounds like she was mugged and transported to a deserted area and then abandoned. She walked back to the highway and found help.
    OMG, that sounds horrifying.

    From Guan's blog.
    ---

June 15 2011, the day was one of the darkest unforgettable experiences in my life.
i still remain deep in the shock.

    Noon on June 15, 2011,
i finish my errand at the bank, and are walking the street, one middle-aged woman asked me directions.
when i gave directions to her, i felt that she nudge me in the ribs with a sharp object.
i heard a terrifying woman's voice to me by this woman.
she said, "Be quiet. ride on a car. i'll stab you if you shout."

as soon as a bus moved when i was ridden a bus as i was attached a blindfold.
    i've attempted to run a way but i couldn't.
i was threaten by a driver's man and as i was beaten by her.

i was taken all money and my things by force.

i've got the feeling the bus was only running and it has been to far.
at last, i was thrown from the car when the car stopped. the car gone away.
i was left alone in a mountains.
i finally found a public load after that i was desperate for finding a load.
i didn't know how long was i only walking through this load.
Eventually, it can find an army post and i ran up to there for help.
two servicemans made me used a phone to mother, i was saved at last.

    ---
According to her, it's over 3,000yuan for total amount of the damage.
and she was beaten by them again and again.
she gradually become a good condition currently.

    Thank goodness she's safe.

That's horrific. I'm so glad she's ok! I hope there are good support services for her to recover psychologically.

Thank God she's safe. Hope she'll be able to recover from this.

Hopefully there were surveillance cameras inside or outside of the bank who may have captured images of the criminals who abducted this poor young lady and that they will be able to identify and capture them.
I meant to take the high road.... but I missed the exit.

How horrible for her. I didn't realize that this kind of violent crime existed in China. Then again, human beings are the same every where when you get down to it. Some percentage will always be sociopathic asshats.

I feel so sorry for her. Where did that happen? In Beijing or her hometown of Shenyang?
I was reading through the article (thank God this one is in short characters, the first articles were in traditional characters), but didn't see a city mentioned (or maybe I just overlooked it)

According to this story, this happened in Shenyang:

In fact, this editorial is questioning the details of Guan's story. Without knowing the facts firsthand it's hard to tell how much to credit this article....
