Oh, that would be brilliant!! I really hope they get it!
My first thought wasfor applying for post-Olympic Worlds. But then I realized that it could very well be both Laura & Kiira's farewell competition, so it'd actually be quite fabulous!
Rockin' Finnish commentator: "And that was supposed to be a flip but it turned out to be a flop."
I thought Japan was getting that, or am I mistaken?
2014 Worlds would be the next one available for Japan, and they might be interested in it as it could be the farewell competition of some of their top skaters as well. If they apply, I'm sure they'll get it.
There was an article with a Cinquanta interview where he encouraged Japan to apply for the 2015 worlds. 2015 worlds would be more desirable, I suppose. I don't have the link.
That would be exactly 15 yrs since Finland last held Worlds. It's been a long time. I hope they get it!
I really hope us to get the competition.
I would be one of the volunteers. That is sure!
Cross fingers for Finland! (much nearer for me than Japan).
That would be awesome! I have my fingers crossed for Suomi!
YAY! Good luck to Helsinki!
I always love the post-Olympic worlds. The stress of the Olympics is over and we usually see some first-time chapions.![]()

any idea who else is bidding?

According to the JSF director Ito, they are considering to bid for 2014 or 2015 in Tokyo.
There should be many merits and demerits considerations. The post-Olympic worlds are usually downers lacking some strong contenders and overall motivations. Such situations could be desirable for home skaters to take advantages though, they may prefer 2015 because that would make them more influential on post-Olympic rule changes.
If Japan applies for 2014, then I hope Finland applies for 2015 and gets it.
