For Canadian Senior pairs Mylene Brodeur and John Mattatall have retired, Kaleigh Hole and Adam Johnson have split. Also Jade-Savannah Godin and Andrew Evans have split..
    As for Junior Pairs,
    Tara Hancherow/Sebastien Wolfe split
    Katherine Bobak/Matthew Penasse spilt
    Natalie Kwong/Garnet Suidy split
    Kristen Tikel/Ian Beharry split
    Aveline Pearson/Alexander Sheldrick split
    Catherine Balde/Maxime Deschamps split
    Gabriella Debono/Christopher Sisca split..
    Zoey Brown/Maxime Deschamps
    Katherine Bobak/Ian Beharry
    Becky Cosford/Garnet Suidy
    Julianna Seguin/Andrew Evans

...are 4 new pair teams that have formed.

Natalie Kwong has quit. Matthew Penasse and Christopher Sisca are looking.

Does anyone know if Hole and Johnson are still skating/looking for new partners?

I assume the first two teams will be junior and the second two will be senior. Can anyone confirm?

My understanding is Hole will compete singles and Johnson is done.

Too bad about Hole and Johnson. They had some promise, but it was crowded at the top for Canadian pairs.

Brown & Deschamps are competing in juniors at the Championnats québécois d'été. Bobak & Beharry are both still junior age eligible, so may skate in juniors as well. Suidy (age 24) and Evans (age 23) will have to compete in seniors. Sorry to hear about Kaleigh & Adam. They had a nice look on the ice.

Both Suidy and Evans can still compete junior if they choose to. Suidy was junior this past season. There is no age restriction nationally. In my mind both should compete Senior but hey, it's skating so you never know. lol

    Noooooooooooooooo!

I know that Matej has been a complete and utter headcase but they looked great together.

I hope she can find a good partner abroad and continue.

You’re right. I’d forgotten about that. Not sure how I could forget the WTF moment at nats in Saskatoon when Annie Barabé’s very obviously adult team got on the ice with the little ones. Both Evans and Cosford competed in seniors previously. I can’t imagine either would be interested in going back to the junior ranks, but as you said, one never knows……..

I’m surprised to hear that Mathew Penasse is still available. He’s a good size and has solid pair skills IIRC.

OMG. It's official. Jenna is the new granny of skating.

Even though Fumie's been around for longer, it feels like Jenna's skating career has lasted decades!

    Thanks a lot, lay'dback.

Did Vardanjan relocate from Hungary to UK permanently or is he only consulting skaters there?

    I can't say I'm surprised they didn't retire.

Gurgen Vardanjan is as of last year the head coach at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham. Here is one source of many with that information: http://www.iceskating.org.uk/node/4571. Vardanjan is now also coaching David Richardson who trains along side his son, Tigran. It is my understanding that Kevin and Jenna are good friends with David; so it does not really surprise me that they are going to his coach now. Let's just hope that the coaching they receive is good enough for them to have no trouble keeping their jumps so that at least that portion of their "programs" are watchable.

So, should we start off-season chit chat which of the 3rd and 4th tier american skaters has granfather´s best friend of Grenada and Morrocco ancestry or which of them were vacating on Cyprus last summer?

Heard that next season they may now be training with Simon & Debbie Briggs in Scotland. Programmes are def done (Lorna Brown) so they must be planning to continue.
