As a long-time fan of Blumberg & Seibert (how can you resist a guy who choreographs the programs, designs & makes the costumes, and is a great dancer???), I have a vivid memory of the '84 Olympics "controversy". The Americans placed 4th [again]--and the lead judge was interviewed for ABC.
She sited the rule AT THE TIME--that a change in music rhythm was mandatory & required a one point deduction. Tracy Wilson observed that T&D 's Bolero didn't meet that requirement. Judge's reply---"They're T& D--THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT."
At this point, my mom went ballistic -- "she admitted they cheated!!!!" very memorable moment. I also recall the ISU's swift action: no member of the judging panel could be interviewed after a competition.

Too bad......![]()
Aww that is to bad. I will miss this team. Wishing both of them the best. I am hoping it is not to difficult for Madison to find a new partner.
cr*p
I'll miss them.
Best of luck to both of them.
I really liked this team and am sad to see them split, but I'm sure Greg thought about it a lot and made the best decision for him. I wish him the best as he moves on to the next phase of his life and I hope Madison can find a good partner and compete next season.
CAN NO US TEAM STAY TOGETHER?!?!???![]()

Boy Hubbell to the rescue! He wouldn't even have to learn a new name for her.![]()
Your program sucks and your partner just fell: lay down and play dead or think Feck this and do a Th3A at the end of the program: Aliona Savchenko: Definition of a competitor
Teams usually have legitimate reasons for splitting, though. Since they're the ones who are training with each other day in and day out and setting/revising their respective goals each season, I think fans' opinions are not going to be taken into serious consideration.![]()
Not to mention weighing the expense and time involved and their likely future placement against D/W, S/S (two World medalist teams) and a returning S/B, I can understand this decision. They had a great season, got to Worlds, I can understand him wanting to go out on a high note and get on with life. Yes, we'd love them to stick with it, but it's not our money and lives here.

Sad day - I liked them a lot!
Well this sucks, I really liked them and thought they had potential...I was hoping it was a rumor.
Awwww. Too bad.
In my spare time, I like to interview figure skating legends.
The Hubbell brother retired, right? That's tough, two top ladies looking for new partners at the same time.
nooooooooooooooooo! I really liked them. 7th at worlds too...
