There have lately been a few articles about Italian skaters and coaches, so I thought I'd sum up them here.
Goldenskate and ArtOnIce articles about Cappellini/Lanotte.
A new article on Barbara Fusar Poli's collaboration with Igor Shpilband.
Inteviews with Alessandrini/Vaturi and Della Monica/Guarise.

Does anyone know that if Italy is planning on using the 3rd ladies spot at Worlds and if so, who is the most likely candidate?

I think the fed will reasonably wait for the season to begin and probably also for Nationals and Europeans. I hope Rio still has a chance, despite the many injuries left her behind in this two seasons, she still is the most experienced skater besides Kostner/Marchei/Berton and if her lutz and lutz combos will be ok by then she'll the one able to guarantee a decent result. I also love her skating skills.

Why wouldnt they use it?. Italy is not Georgia LOL

that being said, the third spot is wide open.. any of Rio, Rodeghiero or the Garlisi sisters could grab it IMO, so we'll just have to wait and see who gets the best results this season.

Cappellini: Gymnastics -- I'm such a fan of gymnastics. I'm so sad Nastia Liukin didn't make it. I'm rooting for Gabrielle Douglas; she's the best bar worker in the world. I followed the U.S. trials.

Lanotte: I don't have one specifically; I'm just going to watch as much as I can. Some friends that we know are going there. I'm going to watch all the Italian Olympic team, particularly the boyfriend of Carolina Kostner, [race-walker] Alex Schwazer, who won the gold medal in Beijing. And some other athletes are going to compete from our club, the club of the Italian police [Fiamme Azzurre].
    I'll never miss that event!

I loved their La Strada costumes. So many ice dancers go with conventionally pretty costumes or conversely, some trashy take on ballroom dresses; what Anna wore dress was unique, flattering, and suited the program. I like that they really thought about how to translate Gelsomina's look into something suitable and appropriate for ice dance.

It would have been interesting to get some thoughts from the guys as well; I wonder who's relatively more involved in the costume concept and design process and what their take on it is.

Re other Italian skaters - Carolina Kostner's press conference is tomorrow, right?

So what did Carolina say in her press conference? All the articles I have found so far are only about Alex Schwazer...

Her official website only shows a press release about Opera On Ice. Maybe they'll publish something about her programs later this afternoon?

It's mainly about Opera on Ice show and she'll perform with Lambiel to Romeo & Juliet in that show.

There is a bit more here:
    http://www.adnkronos.com/mobile/Spor...3614996140.php

She plans to have a "light" season and definitely hopes to be in Sochi, though of cause things might change during two coming years.
