A number of us have been following the Norfolk Eagle cam at The Norfolk Botanical Gardens. Mom eagle was struck and killed by an airplane landing at the Norfolk Airport on April 26th . It was determined that Dad could not care for all three eaglets in the nest and on April 27th, the “kids” were removed from the nest and taken to the Wildlife Center of Virginia. They will be released into the wild later in the summer. Dad is still flying free and hanging out at the Gardens. It is hoped he will find a new mate in the fall.
Wildlife Center of Virginia
The good folks at the Wildlife Center got a camera rigged up so everyone can continue watching the kids grow. They have really grown and are exercising their wings and will start “branching” soon.
