Actually Miyu is the heroine of this drama, not an "also" character. Marin Honda also appears as a "rival" (funny). Here is a promotion clip of "A promise of the skates." Around 40 seconds, apparently Marin is doing a 3Lz-3T.

Fierce battle, aiming at making a Sochi team: Asada and Hanyu hold a lead

Asada and Hanyu won the Grand Prix Final(held from December 7th). They reeled in one of the three spots in each fields at Sochi Olympics. It seems skaters will face a fierce battle aiming at the rest two spots in each fields in Japan Nationals held from December 21th at Saitama Super Arena.

On December 7th Yoshiko Kobayashi the head of strengthening department in Japan Skating Federation said "It's sure that they got a big advantages", she steered clear of the definite commitment about their spots.

The skater who wins the Nationals automatically gets the spot. The rest of the spots will be given to the skaters considering the results in the Grand Prix Final, world standings and the ISU official personal bests. It seems Asada and Hanyu will get the spot because they place the highest in every of the three.

Concerning world standings and official personal best, Daisuke Takahashi, Tatsuki Machida, Akiko Suzuki, and Kanako Murakami, Satoko Miyahara comes in the mix. Reportedly Takahashi has been back on the ice and also worked on jumps already. These skaters will get close to the spots if they get on the podium in the Nationals. They will still remain in the mix even if they fail in getting a medal. The other skaters such as Nobunari Oda who got a bronze medal at Grand Prix Final, Takahito Mura, Miki Ando need to place at least 3rd in the Nationals to be in the mix. Among them the skaters aside from Oda got less outstanding results in this season so they want to win or show remarkable performances at Nationals. "The skater who wants to win the most will get the spot. Everything will be decided at Nationals," said Oda. His words indicate the tough situation.

The Nats is coming next weeeeeeek.

Is there any chance that Japanese Nationals will be carried on the NHK overseas cable channel? The NHK GP event was.

Fuji TV has the broadcast rights. NHK has nothing to do with it.

Is there any way to watch Japanese Nationals on the internet? I really wanna see, but I don't wanna see, if you know what I mean. I'm scared to death for all of these athletes.

Miki's score at Golden Spin was in the 170's. She's getting better. I wonder if the JSF would consider her for a spot, especially considering how underwhelming Kanako has been this season and the fact that besides Mao and Akiko. who else is a contender? Then again, I think Kanako is a late season bloomer.

During ice re-surfacing at GPF, I was window shopping at the stalls and found a gem of a book on pre-release sale. The book is composed series of interviews with top skaters, Mao, Yuzuru, Daisuke, Miki, Akiko, Nobu, Kozuka, Mura and Kanako. What makes this book, titled "The Style of Top Skaters" (Top Skater no ryuugi, Futaba-sha), so special is the interviewer- an obscure Sports News Director at Fuji TV Station named YUKARI NAKANO!
The interviews are sometimes hilarious (Nobu on how he was finally able to count his jumps), poignant (Akiko and Yukari who shared 17year rivalry remember the novice days, when they were both always beaten by an un-named competitor), but always informative.
There is a photos section showing the skater and Yukari both striking an unforgettable pose from the skater's or Yukari's programs. Yukari sometimes hits better pose than the skater!
When this book goes on general release, get it!

I've started a general information thread for Japan Nationals in Kiss and Cry with all the entries listed: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/show...ad-(Dec-20-23)

Yukari used to work as an assistant producer in Fuji TV's movie-ad section. You can see some videos in which she reports about the making of a film. Click on the videos. You'll see her in the police officer costume. Maybe it's because the main character of the film is a young police officer.

She moved to the sports section a couple of years ago and since then she's worked as a reporter/interviewer. I saw her interviews with Mao and Akiko on TV(maybe at the Nationals last year.)

Just for infromation, Fuji TV is the station who has TV right of Japan Nationals. This is their official site of the Nats.

Two more information about Japanese skaters,

According to a TV program aired via Fuji TV Kanako Murakami is back to her former short program(in 2011-2012 season). In this program 3-3 is planned in the first half. So she doesn't need to be very nervous thinking too much about the 3-3 in the second half.

Miki Ando and Yukina Ohta are scheduled to The Gala 2013 held on December 29th in Bozen, Italy. It might be a precious chance to see them live if you are a fan. Actually this could be a wonderful show seeing the whole cast. However, I feel very sorry that Caro is injured.
