Here's one Chinese article link: http://sports.sina.com.cn/o/2011-05-...65594419.shtml

Google Translate says they're going to Canada for new programs but doesn't mention the choreographer by name.

I'll believe it when I see it. I always cringe when I hear about teams going for quad throws, though. Very dangerous.

I know, I remember them working on/attempting them before. I meant I'll believe it when I see it as in, them actually putting it in a competitive program.

Very interesting. Throw 4S seems more likely. I don't think they've ever even tried a throw 3T in competition, have they?

How about working on rotating their SBS jumps first?

Actually, the article only says quad throw, but doesn't say which one. They also said they will reduce frequency of competition in the coming season.

That sounds like they won't want to do 3 SGPs.

I don't get why they're making new programs/trying the quad if they're not going to enter any comps.

The article said they may not enter any international competitions next season. However, they may enter 1 or 2 depending on the situation. So it is not a definite no. The article also mentioned they wanted to compete at the next Olympics.

They've worked with Lori Nichol in the past and I would assume if they're coming to Canada, it's to work with her again.

I admire them for trying this new element and challenging themselves after all these years but I just worry about the possibility of her body breaking down from the continuous throws. She ain't no spring chicken anymore.

2006 Olympics free skate anyone? That splat was totally cringe-worthy.

Wow, I can't think of anyone her age (31) adding such difficult elements... how old was Rena Inoue when she started doing the throw 3axel?

I hope this is not the federation saying "you guys couldn't do clean sbs triples so you need to add a quad throw to keep up technically."

I believe you're thinking of the Zhangs.

    You are correct.

That really doesn't make sense. Didn't they clearly state earlier this year that they wanted to retire and get married?

How old are they? Will they be even older than Shen and Zao were in 2010 if they compete at Sochi?

Regardless of age, they don't have the same drive as Shen and Zao and are not as good competitors. They had great seasons in 2006 and 2010, but in general struggle with consistency. I actually love them, but don't think they have anything left to in FS. And they are not going to win OG in Sochi, not with V&T now on the scene and S&S hungry for Olympic redemption.
