China Daily article (June 9, 2011): Skating gala to hit the ice in Shanghai
The popular European show "Art on Ice" will make its China debut in Shanghai this month, thanks to Infront Sports & Media.
Featuring a line-up of successful ice skaters and Chinese pianist Lang Lang, the show will be held on June 18-19 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
China's two-time figure skating world champion pair of Pang Qing and Tong Jian will lead the star-studded cast. Other skaters include the three-time German world champion pair of Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy, 2011 World Championships pairs silver medalists Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov from Russia, 2008 ice dancing world champions, Isabelle Delobel and Olivier Schonfelder from France and men's singles world champion Stephane Lambiel from Switzerland.
I'm going to Artistry on Ice here instead![]()
Here was mentioned that CCTV may have live broadcast of Art on Ice. Does anyone know when? Is it CCTV5?
I heard the ticket sales are not going well. But the arena is HUGE, I hope they did not expect it to be sold out!
well,on the ticket selling site,it appears it's nearly sold out.BUT,I think it's because they give out tickets to some sponsers...
ice show market is nearly none in china now.I think AOI should learn something from Artristy on Ice——don't depand on the ticket selling (they give out maybe half of their tikets to Amway last year...many shows here did the same things too) but from the sponsers,Artristry on Ice get a lot of money from Amway,so they can improve more this year and have a good overall income
broadcast on CCTV5(which is the biggest sports TV channel in China) is such a wonderful start. They can attract many companies to invest on the show or have ads on it.hope the organizer of AOI can understand that.
plus, there are nealy no promotion for Art on Ice Shanghai....especially compare to Artristy on Ice shows....
anyway, they are successful businessmen,I think they can know these better than me![]()
