    Off-Season Reading List

Now that Worlds are over, I've been trying to catch up on my reading. I started to read Johnny Weir's Welcome to My World. I couldn't finish it.

I've also tried re-reading some of my older books, like Upping the Ante, by Michelle Kwan, but they seem so dated.

And so, I've been compiling a list of figure skating books I need to read.

Here's what I've come up with so far:

    • Let's Learn to Count!, by Nobunari Oda (with illustrations by the author)

    • Twist and Snout, by Eric Radford

    • Using Social Media to Enhance Your Reputation, by Alexander Majorov

    • How to Detect, Heal, and Prevent Sports Injuries, by Tom Zakrajsek

    • A Return to My Roots, by Jeremy Abbott

    • Look Years Younger than Your Age, by Zhang Dan and Sui Wenjing

    • Selecting Unique and Distinctive Program Music, by Brian Joubert and Florent Amodio (with afterword by Richard Dornbush and Peter Liebers)

    • When Hell Froze Over, by Sarah Meier, Konstantin Menshov, Ryan Bradley, and Alissa Czisny

    • My Buddy, Phil Hersh, by Rachael Flatt

    Any recommendations would be appreciated.

All said in gest with mucho respect, except maybe the first one, but I didn't mention any names as they are all so
I guess the hard thing for a lot of people to accept is why God would allow me to go running through their yards, yelling and spinning around.

Very clever ... here are some companion reading material to go along with the above -- the first not intended to be funny:

Overcoming Barriers in Sports, by Debi Thomas, in memory of Mabel Fairbanks, Jesse Owens, Arthur Ashe, Jackie Robinson, and Althea Gibson, with foreword by Rory Flack, and afterword by Venus and Serena Williams

Frenzy on Ice, a ice-play in homage to Alfred Hitchcock; starring Kanako Murakami, Alena Leonova, Daisuke Takahashi, Artur Gachinski, Gary Beacom, et al., to be directed by David Fincher with choreography by David Wilson, Shae Lynn Bourne, and Randy Gardner, narrated by Dick Button, and produced by Ice Age The Next Millennium -- You heard it here first! think outside the box

Beyond Russian Tradition: A Transformative Approach to Pairs Skating, by Ingo Steuer, Aliona Savchenko, and Robin Szolkowy, in honor of the great pairs teams past present and future
