    Royal Wedding gifts

I couldn't decide whether to send a blender or a chop-o-matic. In the end, the blender won. I didn't know whether Kate felt very Popeil-ish.

    What gift did/would you send?

Interesting topic, wedding gifts are very steeped in custom. My family always gives a gift for the engagement and or shower, but money for the wedding. I don't imagine anyone is giving Kate and William money, though.

Lol, actually they asked for donations to charity, but given his description of trying to impress Kate ("I would try to cook her these fancy meals, and something would burn, something would boil over, something would catch fire") perhaps cooking lessons for the newly-created Duke of Cambridge?

They seem to need a fondue pot. I think I have one in the basement. They'll never know. After all, regifting is so earth friendly.

A George Foreman grill or a Presto Frybaby. It comes in so handy when you want to make fish and chips.

I like that they asked for charitable donations and then invited the heads of the various charities to the wedding as well.

I recall in one of the interviews, I think with the Mayor of London, he mentioned that he'd made a donation to the charity fund, but also got them a book by a photographer with pictures of the town in Wales where they are currently living since this is a nice time in their lives and he hoped the pics would remind them of good memories.

William has one. He's a search and rescue pilot and active-duty RAF.

Since they're not going to have a staff, I think I'll get them a roomba vac, to help keep their cottage tidy!

ROFL. Good thing I wasn't drinking tea or I would have spit it at my computer screen.
