I hope Josh gets a recording contract. He deserves it.

My god, what an exhausting show.

No doubt, Josh will get a recording contract. I'd buy some of his music.

Melanie seemed genuinely stunned; nice to see in this era of "scripted" reactions on these programs.
I believe that both she and Josh will find a niche.
They have voices; and more important, due to the show, they now have "contacts" in the business.

Love Melanie's voice, but it was the predictable result out of the top 3. I hope Josh gets something too.

Nicole Scherzinger says she is "an artist first, not a judge first", suggesting that her entirely successful stint on US X Factor may not be repeated next year. (Daily Mirror) It is just as well, we suppose, that she can fall back on her successful recording career.

So what happens now? X factor USA didn't have the winner's single ready to go like on the UK show. Presumably she'll get to actually record material and release things properly rather than jumping on the back of the show into a shit first single cover?

More likely: She'll rush release a shitty album full of unfinished tracks.

Or will take almost a year to release a shitty album full of unfinished tracks like One Direction.

She's signed with Epic Records and LA Reid is working with her.

So having been pretty vocal about her being boring and old hat, she's got to work with him? Not sure i'd be happy with that set up!

    Might she accept?
Any word about more potential mentors, yet.

Well it's an unbelievable amount of money but it would tie her down for 5 years. And not like she wouldn't earn truckloads of money otherwise.

    Other news:
    - SHATTERER OF CHILDREN'S DREAMS and Paul Abdul are not supposed to return to their judging roles
    - Steve Jones confirmed that he won't be returning to present the show (good riddance!)

The news that is desperately needed is having the Brit voiceover artist feature on the US version too.

Although I guess he's not doing it because poor American viewers would struggle to understand what he's saying.

100 million to a judge for one year and 5 million for the winner of the show over their career (if they sell enough...)

My gosh, if I didn't know better, I'd think this was a publicity stunt!
It's official. I am madly in love with Meryl Davis.

Certainly not if Beyonce should happen to say yes!!

P.S. Melanie has been dropped from her label due to expected low sales.

I think Melanie will do just fine. Her Superbowl commercial for Pepsi with Sir Elton was great.

As for being dropped, the single came out on Friday. There's no sign she's being dropped.

PeterG was joking, in case you missed it.

And yes, releasing a cheap cover is a sure sign that Melanie Amaro's career is doing wonderfully well.
