What do you do for Off-Ice-Training?
Say,I've asked this on Skatingforums. But I don't think I've ever asked it here. But since you all can now read MY Training Reports..I thought I'd ask you all today as Skaters what YOU do for Off-Ice-Training. Mine is on my Reports. But just to start it..here's what I do...
Leg-Lifts laying on my Back. 20 each on each Leg.
Leg-Lifts laying on my Stomach. 20 on each Leg.
Spiral Leg-Lifts holding onto my kitchen counter. 20 on each Leg.
Sit-Toe-Touches reaching for my toes. 20 on each Leg.
What about you all?
- Rep Power
I do an off-ice class for jumping, which is mainly loop/axel exercises.
For stretches, I do lunges, butterfly stretches and spiral positions (sometimes with ankle weights). I also do planks for core stability, and spin on my spinner, although since I haven't officially learnt one-foot spins yet, I usually use it for 3 turns.
I am meant to be doing more spiral stretching, but as I'm so stuck on Mohawks and 3 turns, I don't think spirals are imminent.
- Rep Power
I do all my jumps off-ice.
Lots of different stretches-Biellmann position, spiral position, splits, etc.
I work out at the gym a lot. I do lots of strength training 3-4 days per week: pull ups, pushups, deadlifts, bulgarian split squats, bench press, box jumps, jump rope, planks, mountain climbers and many other different ab exercises, etc.
1-2 days per week I do a really intense strength training class for one hour.
I also run sprints every day.
...I need to get a spinner so that I can practice my spins.
