Having said that, Gedevanishvili promised a lot in 2006, 5 years later she has completely stagnated and he may well help her given that she does actually have the tools to be a champion. He seems to be great at instilling self belief and confidence and that's exactly what Elena needs, IMHO.

She needs more training time and less extra-curricular activities. A disciplinarian kind of coach. I was hoping Wagner would be just that.

But it seems that she either wasn't that or that she was and it still didn't help. In that case, what she needs is a very good sport psychologist.

Idk, I know the puberty monster wasn't particularly kind to her, but she is still capable of a huge Sebestyen like 3lutz and 3t-3t-2t combos, and she's flexible and can spin and all that, consistency is really her biggest weakness, she's actually pretty a pretty well-rounded skater otherwise. I mean I don't think she'll ever be able to medal at worlds, but I do think if she can become more consistent she could medal at GP events and Euros, maybe even win those kind of events.

He's basically the teacher/mentor/ in a position of trust and power.

The root of all of his problems is his dependency on alcohol. I think if he was ever to confront that issue, he'd be a different guy.
