I mean it's too soon to say but Adele's songs are very Stansfield-esque in the sense that while I recognize that she has a powerful voice, I don't find the songs very catchy or worthy of repeated listening.
Not "worthy" of repeated listening? Surely you're not confusing Adele for Susan Boyle...

Each to his own I guess. For me, Adele is like more mature and interesting Joss Stone or LOT saner Amy Winehouse. Couldn't possibly ask for more

I would love to agree with those who say Lady Gaga doesn't need the gimmicks, costumes, over-the-top-makeup, etc. and most certainly doesn't need to piss off religious folks with songs like "Judas," because she's so talented she doesn't need to do this stuff.

THAT is what I want to believe; but my goodness, it's really hard to argue with the kind of success she's having, isn't it?

    And they are right.

Gaga's music is no better than Britney's, for example. She just makes a huge impact because of her image. But it's gonna start boring people sooner or later.

Vocally, she's excellent. The problem lies in the music. Other than few exceptions (like "Rolling in the Deep"), her songs are very bland. Lyrically and musically they're no different to thousands of other, very similar soul songs.

Joss Stone suffers with the same problem, to a large extent. But it's a sacrilege to compare her to an artist as sophisticated as Amy!

I'm a little disappointed she didn't turn into one of those motorcycles in the beginning.

I wanted her to throw Judas to the floor and feck him right in front of Jesus. Lame!

Visually it was nice but where is the controversy??? BORING!! On another note...her dancing has REALLY improved. She has gotten so much better I guess from being on tour for 2 years straight. I saw her in Oct 2009 and her dancing was horrible.

Not a fan of this song and infact I find the opening especially to be very annoying. The fact that it is already starting to slide backwards on the charts after just the second week is telling that this song will be forgotten.

This still isn't her best song, but at least the video is much better than her last one. At least this one was fairly straightforward. Gaga definitely needs a video that's more straightforward and less "WTF" because she was starting to lose people with every new video for awhile. I loved her eye makeup here.

It's kind of alarming how skinny Gaga is now too. Doing all that touring and dancing will do that to you, but her body used to be so hot a few years ago (case in point: Poker Face video). She's a stick now!

everytime I hear this song in my head it morphs into Bad Romance...GaGa's songs are starting to all sound the same to me
Q: Why can't I read the competition threads?
A: Competition forums on the board are available to those with a Season Pass or a premium membership How to View Kiss & Cry

Me too. If I hear this song on the radio I can guarantee you that I will be randomly singing Bad Romance sometime within the next 12 hours.

I doubt she'll have much longevity, as a result of that.
