It's such wonderful news! I'm so happy for Midori, a legend is back on ice!
My happiness is such that I can't express it with words. Just wonderful!

Midori Ito had a press conference about her participation for this adult competition on June 2.
According to this article, Midori plans to include triple jumps in her performance.
She can still do 2 types of triples (the article does not say which ones).

"My skills and techniques are not as high (as they use to be), but I'd like to show the joy of skating by enjoying staking myself. I will do my best."
"Of course I cannot jump 3A, but I'd like to compete with quality - with good jumps and quality skate."
She will skate to Whisper of the River, a piano piece played by a blind pianist, Nobuyuki Tsujii.

Nice to see Ito's comeback mentioned in this brief Associated Press newswire article: http://www.universalsports.com/news-...id=535635.html
The 41-year-old Japanese said at a news conference Thursday that "figure skating isn't just a sport for young people."
"People of all ages should try, and in that spirit I decided to compete in this tournament," the 1992 Olympic silver medalist said.

Love the music and LOVE the video. Her double axel looks waaaay better than in 2009 or whenever she did those PIW shows. I was a bit worried at first because the waltz jumps weren't so great and her knees looked stiff but obviously at 41 it takes time to warm up!! I really hope she enjoys her time in Oberstdorf, skates her best and puts adult skating on the map. Hopefully the Japanese TV will be there to record it.
And I hope perhaps she will have happy memories of the last time she competed in Oberstdorf where as a child skating genius of 12, she unleashed this on the world.![]()

Nice 2A. It looked easy.
Go Midori.

I freakin love Midori! I hope her skate is recorded for her fans to enjoy
AND WHAT AN AXEL AT 41!!! +3!!!
I can't wait to watch this on youtube!!
She's one of those skaters that is really loved by pretty much everyone. I haven't heard a bad comment from anyone about her, even on FSU. She is so humble it's just endearing. Can't wait for the competition. The double axel is just incredible. The height and landing flow is amazing, add to that her age. She totally deserves the respect she gets.
If I had a dollar for every time I got distracted, I wish I had some ice cream.

Good luck Midori!
WOW, beautiful music and fitting Midori very well!!! I could also imagine some eligible skaters skating to it, maybe Mirai Nagasu?
Are there any internet streaming where can we see the competition?
I'll die to watch Midori's skating.
