Are you an adult, or a non-adult?

Penn State has a supervised camp for skaters as young as entering 3rd grade in the fall and doesn't specify minimum age. Here's the link:

Wow, awesome! A group of us from our rink were talking about driving someplace that had a weekly camp that was "intensive" and all shareing a condo. Our rinks only do low level camps during the summer. And they are closing one down to redo it.

I don't have another camp, but instead a little mini-editorial.

I attended the Simsbury camp last summer, and overall it was a good experience. I went week 1, so there were only 6 of us, but I understand it gets quite popular. There was ice all hours, a good variety of classes, and a really nice staff. The food was OK, but the dorms/bathrooms were beautiful, though I didn't have a roommate, and the kids I met, dormers and local, were lovely. I personally would recommend it.

However, I am attending the Grassroots to Champions one this summer, due to proximity and also friends/coach attending. I'll give updates when I get back!

Thanks - his name is usually all over the camp announcement, and this year nada.

Wondering what the chances are that Johnny will actually be there? From what I've seen, he's pretty good with instruction and demonstration even for low level skaters, so I think he'd be great for the adult camp. Even though PJZ won't be there, it might be enough to entice me to go!

I wondered about that as well because the 2011 emailed announcement came from "Christine Rutherford." I think she's an administrator in the skating office, iirc. The website still has Craig Maurizi listed as the Director of Figure Skating.

I looked at my copy of the 2010 announcement / application and it just said the "Ice House Figure Skating Dept." for the contact info. Craig's name wasn't listed anywhere on the things I received last year. I don't remember his name being "all over the camp announcement" in prior years. Maybe it was one the documents given out at the camp itself?

You're absolutely right - I also looked back at the 2009 one and he wasn't on that one either except as the name to return the application to. I must be out of my mind!! I do remember back in 2009 that he taught the flip class I was in. But definitely not in the brochure.

    Somebody get me a brain...

I just wondered because he's never seemed like a grandstander to me, but I don't know him from the camp. No biggie.

His name was probably on the camp schedules and stuff because if you started the camp and then had to withdraw, got lost traveling, etc. you would have his name and contact info.
