A four month international trip is still something.
We had a two night stay in the city 25 miles from home due to the more localized disaster of my husband's workplace burning to the ground resulting in a period of underpaid employment, followed by unemployment, followed by a new lower paying job where he was generously given four unpaid days off for our wedding in spite of a policy that no one gets any days off in their first 90 days.
That was nearly two years ago and we still haven't had a proper vacation together. We probably won't for four or five more years.
