    American Idol - Top 11.2 (March 30 and 31st)

Not much gossip from the usual websites this week. This is all I've got to tide us over until the show commences...

Are Haley and Casey a couple?
Haley and Casey (Not much info at this link, which includes...)

Rumors are surfacing that Casey and Haley Reinhart are hooking up in Idol land. Maybe they can growl and grunt together off camera.
Jacob Lusk is #1 – Ranking the American Idol Top 11 Redux

...Jacob is #1? I'm not putting much faith in rickey.org these days! (Although they do say that Pia is favoured to win the season, which is a tad more believable!)

    From mjsbigblog:

    Album Numbers (Via USA Today)

    Jennifer Hudson, I Remember Me (165,000, debut, 165,000 total) (#2 Billboard 200)
    Crystal Bowersox, Farmer’s Daughter (3,000, -7%, 177,000) (#176 BB200)
    Lee DeWyze, Live It Up (3,000, -42%, 133,000) (#195 BB200)
    Mandisa, Freedom (3,000, -1%, 144,000) (#198 BB200)
    Various, American Idol, Vol. 1 — 10th Anniversary: The Hits (3,000, -24%, 7,000) (#200 BB200)
    Daughtry, Daughtry (2,000, -8%)
The Grand Magnolias, The Grand Magnolias (1,000, +135%, 5,000)
Jason Castro, Who I Am (less than 1,000, +24%, 18,000)
Mandisa, True Beauty (less than 1,000, +89%, 226,000)
So in one week, Jennifer Hudson has out-sold Lee DeWyze, whose CD has been out for over four months? The champ vs. the 7th place finisher...and the winner is... Poor Lee, even Crystal is out-selling him by 44,000 copies. And it looks like the AI collection CD is selling like...lead... (Well, it's not selling that well! )

Who's ready for Elton John night! I certainly hope a lot of ballads are chosen. "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me", anyone? Has that one ever been covered?
I'm off to the Patrick Chan threads...where you can watch a molehill become a mountain in seconds!!!

The #1 ranking was for online presence. He had the most net activity last week - good and bad.

I saw a suggestion that one of the girls sing "The Bitch is Back."

I hope this isn't another snoozefest. I mean, I've only seen one episode due to Job #3 being canceled one week, and I can't see the one tonight, but if everyone picks a ballad, that's going to suck.

Yes. Idol's original rocker, my boy, and along with Vonzell my reason for once watching an entire dang season of American Idol,

Paul tweeted today that it was "time to rock," so I'm hoping that means she's not doing a ballad. It could mean he's doing "Crockodile Rock."

Pia was practically instructed not to do a ballad, though I could see her doing a Clay-like version of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me." Thia also seemed to be told not to do another ballad.

Lauren seems to like more uptempo songs and Jacob is not much into ballads.

Casey tweeted that "tonight is the night I go bold." I don't know what it means, but I hope it doesn't mean even bigger yells and grimaces. I hope it means that he's re-arranged an Elton song. Elton's songs are largely piano driven, but maybe Casey rearranged one for a different instrument?

ETA: Beefcake, I think Peter was joking. That song has been done a number of times on Idol and is on some lists for songs that should never again be sung on Idol.

I hope Casey doesn't try to out Elton the early 80s Elton.

And now I can clearly remember Clay, Archuleta, and OMG Guarini singing it. Make it stop!

I don't know if I want to watch tonight. I am still so pissed that they went back on their word and are doing artist specific theme nights. I don't take well to being lied to!

I don't understand why someone doesn't sing Celine. I mean standing there with your arms spread like Kate Winslet as the boat is sinking. How cool would that be? Can't imagine why nobody has done that.

CELINE!!! Why hasn't anyone done Celine???

P.S. Mariah Carey has some good songs as well. Plus they are easy to do.

We should send a suggestion to Nigel that he suggest Celine, Mariah and Whitney would be excellent to emulate. I'll bet Randy Jackson might even have worked with them at some point!

Hush. We wouldn't want Pia to get any ideas.

Some song spoilers. Just the songs. Not who is doing them.

I am so over Pia and her ballads. Same old same old.

Me too and putting a dance beat to it doesn't make it different from a ballad.
