The only deduction for C/B was "Extended Lift: -1.00", and while the last two elements got - GOE, they didn't get -3's across the board. (In fact, one judge gave them 0 on the diagonal step sequence.)

It's Alexandra's birthday today..great big 21 ,I think.
Happy Birthday to her!
I am sure this has been discussed before in other threads, but since it looks that these two teams will be rivaling each other this year and next- will Piper be a Canadian Citizen in time for the 2014 games?
i don't know where to post my question... i'll try here. I'd like to understand how the Polka works.. I used the Thornhill video of P/I's beautiful SD and the detailed score from Salt Lake comp. It says:
Yankee Polka 1st Sec Yankee Polka 1st Sec 4 + kpYYY
Yankee Polka 2nd Sec Yankee Polka 2nd Sec 2 + kpNNY
What I would like to know is, where does the 2section start? i can't quite figure. it looks like one sequence only to me.

Happy Birthday Alexandra Paul!!I guess their performances at SLC made a great birthday present.
I suppose Piper can have her citizenship fast tracked. Getting citizenship is normally a very long process here in Canada, but if there are extenuating circumstances (like an athlete trying to become eligable for the Olympics), they can often appeal, and find a way to speed up the process. I know this was done for Kaitlyn Weaver before the 2010 games. Though she and Poje, didn't end up making it, Kaitlyn was eligable. That being said, the timeline between now and Sochi is much tighter, although one would expect that they have already started with the proceedings. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Piper's mother will be a citizen soon so she will be fast tracked under a different process.
thanks!

Nebelhorn is just around the corner! Any leads on a good place to find pics/videos/reports??
Last year at least 2 fans posted numerous Nebelhorn videos - links will be posted in the competition thread in Kiss and Cry and I'm sure any Paul/Islam vids will make their way here.![]()

Lovely. Both programs looked superb, and those twizzles!!!I was especially impressed by the FD, which looked a bit smoother than it did a few weeks back (when it already looked more than competition ready). There were a couple of awkward moments in the FD at Thornhill that I noticed, and here it looked like they re-choreographed all of them. Wishing them the best for Nebelhorn!!!

Here are some pics from the Nebelhorn Trophy! P/I are in the mix. Wishing them a fantastic FD tomorrow.![]()
Hello all! Nebelhorn is in the books, and it seems P/I had a good competition and result overall. I haven't been able to tack down any videos, but there are pics on absoluteskating.com, as well as the link I posted above. P/I were also invited to skate in the gala, and thanks to Absolute Skating we finally know what their exhibition music is. Apparently it's "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel, though I have no idea what version.

Their short dance has been uploaded.
P/I are registered for COS sectionals, which will be held the first few days of November. R/H and G/P are also on the list (though both teams have already qualified for nationals - P/I have not), so it should be a really great competiton. It'll be interesting to see how the scores line up.
