Seriously? I think skaters need some better transition plans, none of them seem to know how to move on. But I like Johnny's skating, so if he can't move on, let's see him bring it.!

Photos from Weir's press conference: http://www.universalsports.com/photo...id=575745.htmlWeir says announcement of return is "not a publicity stunt." He plans to train hard, incl. quad, and take part in summer competitions.
Wheeeeee!
Only ice is cooler than Daisuke.~ IceAlisa after the 2012 WTT men's event.
Yes, they both look so happy together, and that's great. I hope their union will always be happy.
In regard to Johnny's comeback, I didn't expect to hear his decision this soon, but the timing must be right for him. I recall he did say that he was going to train hard after the holidays and then make a decision with his coach regarding a comeback.
Wonderful for Johnny that his off-ice dreams have come true and he feels ready to meet the difficulties of on-ice competition head on.![]()
I take it he's remained with Smievskaya? I really, really hoped he might chose a different coach if he came back.
in general I would agree with you, especially if they're no longer in their prime..but honestly I feel like there's this age discrimination in figure skating that's kind of unnecessary. it seems like every year more and more people are breaking boundaries by skating past their teens or early 20's..and if people these days can push the envelope technically by doing so many quads in a program..why can't we similarly stretch the amateur skating age a bit further so that a female skater at 24 and a male skater at 27 aren't necessarily considered old fogeys anymore?

Had to post this recent photo of the happy couple!

Nice photo, I hadn't noticed Johnny is that much taller (unless it's how he's standing), and how the newlyweds are doing six weeks after marrying:

Thanks for the updates. Very nice photos of the happy couple. Johnny does love to clean. I remember on his TV show he talked about his obsession with cleanliness in the home. He is my kind of guy!
Wow Glitter on the food huh?
This is rather unamusing:
Besides, Weir enjoys doing household chores so much he won’t hire a housekeeper. “I’m like Mommie Dearest. I’d be the one that beats the shit out of the maid because they missed a spot,” he said.
Tweeted today:
PS Landed a quad toeloop today.

I'm looking forward to seeing him on competitive ice again.
Johnny skated to a new program for the charity show, Re-Born Garden, in rememberance of the devastating earthquake that hit Japan a year ago.
The program included 3Lz, 3A, 3S, spins and step.
My friends told me that he looks fit and in good shape.
The music is Chopin’s Nocturne, which seems to be this piece:

Here's a snippet of the new Chopin exhibition from a practice in Japan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZTWp9d_reM
(his agent also has uploaded two other practice clips of his 3A)
Here's the event thread in GSD: Re Born Garden - benefit for people of Japan on one year anniversary of earthquake
