'007' Daniel Craig Dons Drag to Promote Gender Equality

I was all ready to laugh, but the message is too serious.

Daniel Craig is a real drag

"Bond is challenged by 'M' to think about gender inequality, and I hope that the film encourages viewers to do the same," said "Nowhere Boy" director Sam Taylor-Wood, who also directed the clip, in a statement. "Kick Ass" writer Jane Goldman scripted the short.

"Despite great advances in women's rights, statistics show that when it comes to the balance of power between the sexes, equality is far from being a global reality," he said. "As 'M' reminds Bond, facing up to gender issues and the sometimes covert nature of sexism in the 21st century is something that we all have to recognise, confront and challenge."

It's amazing really that here we are 10+ years into the 21st century and women are still struggling for equality. Loved the clip - and kudos to Daniel Craig and Judi Dench for taking part

Excellent commercial. And ERA is not passed in the US.

Daniel Craig just got mucho points from me. It really warms my heart to see guys fighting alongside women for gender equality. One of my male Facebook friends is literally up in arms over the de-funding of Planned Parenthood, it's just awesome.

I thought that the income gap had been closed. And the sexual assault statistics are frightening - and appalling.

This is really excellent, but very sad that it's a video that had any reason to be done. I don't understand people who think everything is equal and fair these days. Especially women who continue to buy into sexist and misogynistic ideas.

And there are women in other nations who don't even have the freedoms we do.

Wow that was excellent. Great message, very simple concept but it works really really well.

Dream on. I supported myself as a 'bookkeeper' for many years. On several occasions when I switched jobs, I was replaced by a man who was suddenly called 'controller' and made $10,000 a year more, doing the same job I had done. No, the income gap has not been closed.

Guess I should have posted "I thought the income gap was closing. And I'd still be wrong.

I loved the simple approach. Very effective.

Bravo to all of those involved!!
