That would be a very good pick.

Just saw Lea Salonga's Fantine.Way too affected and over-enunciated. Almost uncomfortable to watch.
Les Mis movie leads are cast and set for a December 2012 release.
Hugh Jackman - Jean Valjean
Russell Crowe - Inspector Javert
Anne Hathaway - Fantine
Tom Hooper is directing.

Jackson will be great, that guy can do anything. Hathaway as Fantine? Can she sing? I'm skeptical, but trying to keep an open mind.
Harder to keep an open mind about Crowe as Javert , though ...![]()
The only time I've heard Hathaway sing was with Jackman when he hosted the Oscars. I thought she had a very good voice.
She sings very well.

Yes really not worried about Jackman at all. Russell Crowe as Javert? Really? Can he even sing???? How disappointing. Hathaway is lovely and obviously has a nice voice but not the quality of tone I would associate with Fantine. Her vib annoys me and lacks control. I really hope this doesn't go the way of Sweeney Todd which I still cannot bring myself to watch all the way through. The awful singing is just too disheartening![]()
Inspiring Mirai Nagasu!
Kevin: He compared Scott to a disposable feminine cleansing product one might use on a summer's eve.
Meagan: Yeah, and the bag it came in. -The Big Bang Theory, performed by the Canadian WTT team and interpreted by Cyn.
Having posted this news - and my incredulity to it - on facebook, I have been informed there's a strong rumour that Emma Watson is slated for Cosette????Also Bonham-Carter will rough up her Mrs Lovett for Mme Thenardier and Jeffrey Rush is rumoured for Thenardier.

The Watson rumor is not true, according to this article. But the Rush and Bonham Carter rumors may be true.

Hathaway has a nice voice based on her impressive live singing at the Oscar with Jackman. Don't forget also that these stars will not be singing live; They will have the benefits of having professional sound mixers, editors, producters, etc., making their voices sound 10 times better for the film.
Crowe is the wildcard. Maybe he'll talk his way through the song. He can't be any worse than Pierce Brosnan in Mama MiaHarder to keep an open mind about Crowe as Javert , though ...![]()
.
Some of those supporting choices are very interesting.
Jackman doesn't surprise me at all. He's bankable.
I'm sure that he will do well with the role because of his ability to both sing and act..
There are not very many performers who can do both, as well as he does.
I love Russell Crowe but also wonder about the singing. Never saw him as a bad guy, either--onscreen anyway--and have a hard time picturing him in that role. I know I am in the minority, but I do not like Anne Hathaway. I would rather see Miss Jane Hathaway in the role.![]()
<giggle>I would rather see Miss Jane Hathaway in the role.
Thank God!!!According to IMDB Carter is cast (??) while Rush is still a rumour. Oooh may pop over to Sheffield to see Annis in Company.

If it's true about Rush and Bonham Carter, then a significant portion of the King's Speech team, including the director, will be together again. They should try to find a cameo role for Colin Firth! One of the thieves in Thenardier's gang, maybe? That would be epic.![]()

Russel Crowe?!?! Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.
Hugh Jackman, fine, man can SING. Hathaway, also a good singer.
Now, Geoffry Rush would probably be all kinds of awesome as Thenardier. I don't care if he can sing or not.
