The video is easily searchable on youtube.
Ok. I just remember the repeated "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" performances and Unchained Melody. I don't follow country music, so I probably just thought that the Martina/Faith song was a GFB. In any event, until last week's performance, which was a very crossover pop-oriented version of that Reba song, I had never put her in the country category. She should sing a Taylor Swift song. Taylor is really popular and Lauren would sing it better than Taylor does.

The problem with a Taylor Swift song is that they are designed for a singer with a very very limited vocal range and they almost never include even a semblance of a run or riff. I think it might be hard for Lauren to take a Swift song and make it "sing." I bet she could find one that might work, though, just not sure what it would be off the top of my head.

The problem is that all Taylor Swift songs sound alike & IMO all are boring.

What can I say? When we were kids, my brother and I used to sing together (at home, not in public). I was Lady Flash to his Barry Manilow.

They do sound alike. When one of her songs comes on the radio I can NEVER tell you which one it is until it really gets into the chorus. This is even though I can sing along! The one song I feel that stands apart from her recent stuff is her latest "Back to December." All the others that have come out since her cross over success are carbon copies of each other.

Like I said, even if James is wonderful this whole season, I really think he'll struggle post-Idol anyway, especially if he is going to do heavy metal. I think even Interscope will have trouble introducing and marketing an AI contestant to that genre. Plus, we've had enough male rockers to come out of Idol in recent years.

About getting better material for Pia, I think it's possible. Interscope/Universal >>>>> RCA/Jive/Sony.

IMO the only musical career for James that I can see is if he goes the Daughtry route & fronts a band. But even so, he needs to tone it down. He's going to wear out his voice fast if he doesn't learn a little control.

I hear you, but apparently tweens and teens across America disagree. Her sales are very big at a time when music sales generally are doing very poorly.
