Yeah, but still, evan won olympics and worlds with it, and there is so much other music to choose from. I sent him a long list of music and probably will send some more in the future. I'd be really disappointed if in the end he'd go for RiB.

Just because Evan won titles with it, it doesn't mean he owns it. You can win with a piece of music without owning it. I've seen the program in question, and he certainly didn't own it. I don't think he's capable of enough expression to own it. Certainly, if Tomas can express the music properly, I don't think it would be a problem. RiB is such a beautiful piece of music.
Yes, but there is so much more to choose from!

Yeah, good choice for someone with such purity of edges.
I can totally see Mirai doing a " Don Quixote" program with great success.
Please, no. I can't even stand that music when skated to brilliantly by John Curry. Unless the skater can live up to Curry's standard, I don't want to have to listen to it again.
I might make an exception for a completely original anti-ballet interpretation, but I don't think that's what you had in mind.
You are right, I meant quite traditional. I don't particularly adore the music, but there's my reasoning:
- Between Frank and Lori, it's likely Mirai will go with old "war horses".
- of all the current Ladies, she is the most capable of portraying Kitri, character- wise.
- she has the "ballet look" necessary
- I was terrified when she chose" Carmen" and yet she pulled it off; after that I think she can give a fresh look to overused material.
Sorry you hate "DQ" ! I hope somebody someday performs it close to Curry's most amazing standart![]()
improving my ballad- like lines
Just watched Return to Oz and that soundtrack was gorgeous. Not sure who could skate to it but if I could I would.
Silk Soundtrack: Yankowskas/Coughlin
Newsies Soundtrack
Violin Romance by Patrick Doyle
The Young Victoria soundtrack
Don't Look Now soundtrack
Dana's Theme from Ghostbusters
Radio Ballet by Eluvium
This might be tough music to skate to, but there's a lot of emotion and variation in it. I think of Mirai when I hear it, since I think it would help her develop a more mature style, but it would be a nice challenge for any of the more artistic skaters: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aG6c...eature=related
I also think of Mirai when I hear Ravel's String Quartet in F (from the Royal Tenenbaums). It's light and quick, like her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhN0RRlLhDg
Bill Withers' 'Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone' would be an amazing show program for Jeremy Abbot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIdIqbv7SPo
It would also be fun to see someone skate to Mint Royale's version of 'Singing in the Rain', maybe in tribute to Kurt Browning's version. Again, I can only think of Jeremy Abbott: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IU8t_fqvUZo
I'd love to see Alissa Czisny skate to the music from the ballet 'The Leaves are Fading': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j4CA_DvbkA (music starts around 1:15). The music has a lot of variation, and as a heavily ballet trained skater, I think she'd like the ballet history behind the music.
Philip Glass' 'Metamorphosis 1' would be an good choice for Alissa, too, because it's more powerful than she's used to but still has that lyricism: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=il4VDf-ugPI
I'm also surprised that nobody ever skates to Prokofiev's 'Cinderella', especially since so many of the other ballets are overused: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJisNyWDC0I
The music from 'In the mood for love' is gorgeous, too, sweeping and dramatic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U66BEZIln8Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdReiC3heu8
That's what I've got!
Oh, and Janelle Monae's 'Tightrope' would be such a fun show program for Mirai Nagasu, especially since she's had kind of an up and down year and just needs to believe in herself! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwnefUaKCbc

I love this music. I remember Angela Nikodinov skating to it. I think Ashley Wagner would do good with this music.
Good to know! Well, I wouldn't mind seeing it again, especially since there's so much good music in that ballet.
Patrick Chan:
"Moby Dick" - yes, the Led Zeppelin song. Drum solo + footwork = EPIC
"Jupiter, Bringer of Jollity"
Virtue/Moir
"Idioteque" - or just a Radiohead medley.
Something from Black Swan.
Mao Asada
Something by Desplat, maybe? From Birth or The Painted Veil
Miki Ando
Main theme from "2046": Fierce, haunting, dramatic
Also, for "someone"
"How to Train Your Dragon"
I love Desplat.
The Angel from the movie Lust, Caution

Kara Remembers (BSG) for Ashley Wagner (the song picks up around 1:15)
How about movies based on Jane Austen's books like Pride and Prejudice for Davis/White and Emma 2009 for Virtue/Moir? Hmmm??
Lost Weekend theme for Jeremy Abbot (IMO would be beyond epic and winning)
Vertigo Soundtrack or Laura soundtrack for Alissa (something old school)
I just watched some videos from WJC and I would like see Adelina Sotnikova using Hijo de la Luna for her SP.

I was about to post the same thing. Also, the other operas of the period.
(Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake etc)
Although I don't think anyone in singles could come close to Sasha or anyone in pairs come close to Shen and Zhao's renditions of the Pas de Deux (My favorite part of the ballet)
I wonder whether someone would ever do rite of spring. That would be really cool if it were pulled off well.
Someone was kind enough to make a fanmade video of Mao Asada skating to the Howl's Moving Castle waltz theme - I think it suits her really well!
