Even in the old days when short hair was rampant, it didn't look good, even on everyone from Debi Thomas to Sydne Vogel to Jill Trenary to Julia Sebestyen.
I have a friend who cut all her hair off and she looks GREAT. The thing is that now it's so short it doesn't flop around. I think short hair can work on everybody, but only when it's very short and becomes an extension of your head shape. Short hair looks pretty awkward in a poofy bob state, especially when you're skating and it moves around.

Frankly, I've educated myself a heck of alot more since graduating from university than the three years I was there.
Many people mistakenly believe that a college education is the ticket to financial success. (It's not.) But for someone who's already financially successful, I think it's also good that they broaden their horizons instead of spending the rest of their life doing the same exact thing they were doing as a child.

But if Sasha enjoys her time skating with Stars on Ice, I don't begrudge her doing that full-time as long as she wishes.

I just hate when it's short in the back, almost shaved, and the front bangs do this "swoop" thing. It's very dated and awful looking. That looks like what Sasha has going on here.

She did! (I think she also had it maybe once in her Romeo and Juliet exhibition).
And it was a beautiful look.
A much better one than when she parts her hair to the side before putting them in a bun, which she started doing later on in her career.
The best she can do is french braids. Ponytails and buns after that, preferibly with no side parting.

I'm not sure what you mean by "swoop," but if you mean the bangs are long, they're not.

those are some short bangs, like when my sister got gum stuck in her hair and my other sister cut it out. understandable as an accident, on purpose not so much.

    Yes, that looks really nice.

There's one other hairstyle she had that was my absolute favorite -- I'm trying to dig up a photo.

Short hair never worked for Cohen, in my opinion.

Cohen definitely didn't hit this one.

Funny. - Poor Cohen: criticized for her loos, that must feel new to her.

Anyway, a few can pull even that on purpose and still look fabulous:

Uh, no she didn't. She had long hair for a long time.

Geesh, people are acting like she kicked a puppy instead of getting a haircut. Chill out, guys. It's just hair, and it'll grow.

The more pictures I see of it, the worse the haircut gets.

Well, the good thing about it is that her hair will grow longer again. It's not like her hair stopped growing when she cut it and it's going to be that way forever.

One of my many typos. I meant looks: it must feel new to Cohen being criticized for her looks.

I was referring to the french braid look, not generally to long hair.
I think that was the best look she ever had, and it was a pity she only had it for a few competitions - on top of my mind, the 2002 Crest Whitestrips, a couple of Rach LPs, and maybe one Romeo and Juliet exhibition.

I greatly appreciate that us FSUers can make a "discussion" on a hairstyle go on for numerous pages.

I wonder if she likes the cut... I'm not a fan, but I've had enough bad haircuts to know sometimes you just have to wait it out...

Maybe Sasha wanted to try a new hair style, that's not a crime.

How many of you that so disapproved never did the same.

I saw her today in Las Vegas shopping with Evan, she was incredibly nice when I approached her and looked very happy.

Which store were they shopping at?

Glad she doesn't let a bad haircut get her down, or else she likes it.
