Moskvina will be there too, and she and Mishin will skate together!

(I was kinda hoping that Yagudin could be persuaded to come, but maybe some wounds are better left unhealed.)

This was posted in the Plushenko thread, but I thought I'd post the basics here.

    - Plushenko will skate three times in the show. One will be an existing program (probably TA, I can't imagine him doing JSM at a happy event like this), one will be one of his new competition programs (!!!!!!!!!) and one will be a "surprise".

    - The surprise apparently involves Dima Bilan and Edvin Marton (of course).

    - Prior to the show, there will be several junior competitions, called the Mishin's Cup!

Mishin in his interview to metronews mentioned some of his students:

"Some people can't deal with competition. We parted with Yagudin nicely and peacefully. Some "grubbiness" around our separation was created later, mainly by the people in his new camp.

The story that happened with Lutai in the US is still a mistery for me. I was mad when he got arrested. When I came to the police station, I punched him in his ear. Police officers grabbed my hands and said: "You'll be in the same cell with him because in the US you can't beat a man." But now we have very friendly relationship with Andrei."

The press conference of Stephane and Johnny about Mishin's show (thanks to ontd):
    http://community.livejournal.com/ont...g/1029802.html
Johnny said that in the US they don't have International Women's Day, only Mother's Day. But Galina always told him that he MUST remember 8 March because it's the most popular holiday in Russia. Actually, she is perfectly right. 8 March can count as the most popular holiday, after the New Year of course, which is the overlord of all holidays there.
Here a short video of the same press conference. But on the last seconds you can see Plush on the ice practicing funny steps with a rose. For the show of course.

Stephane is either a great patriot or he gets a good deal with the Swiss hotel Helvetia in St-Petersburg, the one that manages to be peaceful in the purely Swiss way but still within two steps from the hectic Nevskiy Prospekt. In any case, Stephane is a man of a very elegant taste, which is a known fact: www.helvetiahotel.ru/en#en/gallery

What a great honor for Mishin. I can't believe he's going to skate at 70yrs old. I don't care for his choreographies but there's no denying that he's a great jump coach.

Mishin is a personality in Russia like Jutta Müller in Germany. It will be a great show.

Yana wrote on twitter that Plush' participation in Mishin's show is unclear. He has a high temperature, they called an ambulance to "Yubileyny." Now doctors are doing everything they can. She hopes Plush will skate, at least one program.

Congrats to Mishin. He's certainly contributed a lot to the sport.

    Thanks for the videos!

I have to say, I really prefer it when Plushy skates all soft and sensual instead of trying to be overtly sexy. I think he's capable of a much broader range of emotional expression when the overall quality is softer. I really loved this Caruso. (I think Mishin did too - his eyes were awfully shiny at the end!)

Thanks for sharing. You know, I gotta give Johnny Weir props for learning to speak Russian well enough to give a speech in public.
