I never realized she and her husband Larry Parks were among those blacklisted by HUAC.
I loved her in On the Town, and many will remember her as Edna from Laverne and Shirley, or from her many other TV appearances.

I remember her on All in the Family Hope she had a good quality of life .

I will miss her.
My parents used the experiences of Ms. Garrett and Mr. Parks to teach me about the "Blacklist".

Garrett died Saturday at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, most likely from an aortic aneurysm, said her son, Garrett Parks. Garrett had been in good health and taught her usual musical comedy class at Theater West, the non-profit organization she helped found, on Wednesday night, but Friday checked into the hospital with heart trouble, and died with her family at her side the following morning.

RIP. I also loved her as Irene in All in the Family. I didn't know that she was married to Larry Parks. Fecking blacklist ruined so many lives for no reason at all.
