Ice Chips (Skating Club of Boston) April 2-3, 2011

I was at the Saturday afteroon performance and here are my impressions:

I though that the Israeli team was, on a relative level, terrible. I have to look them up and see who is coaching them.

I really enjoy their program. Really smooth, nice choreography. I think it was their SD. They stoped at the end of the show to sign autographs and talk with the public. Nice couple.

Israeli team includes one American member who is a SCOB member. And, with a tribute to passengers on fateful 1961 flight (and so many connected to SCOB), I think all skaters would understand the moment.

"Ross Miner - He did a cantilever in one of the group numbers, love it. His jumps seemed a little wonky, hope it was just the spotlights. Otherwise his skating was smooth Ross.

All I can say is when is he going to get more lift in his jumps. His 2x and or 3x has such a pronouncd deep knee bend that you wonder if he has any leg muscles. His Lutz in the program was wonky as well. I hope his performance at worlds is at least a little better.
