Yeah, he did switch to Tom Z. He is from Minnesota. Keegan Messing is from Alaska.

The first and second sentence in my above post talk about two different skaters.

Thanks, I don't know why the Alaska connection popped out in my head then. Johnson and Messing are anything but alike.

That is very good news. Johnson has good basics and is very elegant. He's missing the 3axel and I hope Tom Z can teach him that.

If you haven't seen his LP, you should have a look.
As posted in another thread, Ms Ade is waiting for Jason to stop growing before drilling the 3axel. She is more concerned for his long term well being and not needing a double hip replacement.

I love Rohene Ward, I miss seeing him. Didn't he used to jump both ways?

FYI, there's a separate Jason Brown thread in which info can also be found about Rohene Ward's contributions to his skating -- link: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/show...=1#post3063042

Rohene came up thru the ISI system which if you want to pass their "Gold" requirement you have to do a double jump in both directions. So yes, Ro can do a double in both directions (probably sal but I don't remember)

I'm pretty sure there was video of Rohene Ward doing TRIPLES in both directions. Might be wrong, but I think it was him.

Here he is doing doubles in both directions, up to 2axel!

I though that was him, it was at a hockey rink in Minneapolis I didn't think many skaters did jumps both ways, I though skaters only did jumps way. They a year or so later I saw a him at nationals. I though it was pretty cool.

Yes Rohene could do all his triples, but the flip and the axel, in both directions. It was very sad that he had no head for competition-you went to his practices to see the real Rohene, so to speak.

In this video, 2002 exhibition, skated to Water Fountain, he does the 2A as a sequence, in both directions.

Rohene Skating In Shows In Turkey

From what I understand, Rohene has been skating in shows in Turkey. Not sure when he is coming back to teach or choreograph.

^ I'm glad to hear that Rohene Ward is still involved in skating.

Thanks. Watching those makes me even sorrier that he bombed at both his trips to US Nationals.

*Ahhhhhhhhhh*. So gentle and mesmerizing. I love that he does some "old-fashioned" moves that are never seen anymore. So beautiful. What is the move at 1:15? TIA!
