I have a feeling Lam will place 3rd at best given her tiny jumps

Zijun is a gorgeous skater and she is capable of 3-3s...I wonder if she's planning any?

Vanessa has made improvements but her small jumps may hurt her...

I think it may be close with Polina and Vanessa...

Of course, I could be (and probably am) completely wrong...

Zijun Li, Vanessa Lam, Polina Agafonova.

Li qualifies for the JGPF and Lam is on the bubble with 24 points.

This year with only 6 spots, Lam wouldn't qualify with a 3 and a 2 barring some VERY unusual results at the last 2 events. For this season, the skaters on the bubble will likely be those with a 2 and a 2.

^ Which is absolutely ridiculous given the depth of some of these fields. Two second place finishes should guarantee a spot in the final.

ITA. Which is why I hope both Zijun and Risa make it. I wish they'd just go back to 8 spots and maybe shuffle around how the qualification system and tie breakers work.

8 spots is totally necessary when you have 7 events. The number of events shouldn't exceed the number of finalists!

It's so sad that Shoji could miss out on the final with 2 second places. Samantha Cesario would also likely be out with a third and a second. Ridiculous!

And Miyahara with a 2nd and a 3rd, and her scores could be huge at both events but because she had tough events, it wouldn't matter if she had the highest total score (currently she holds the 2nd highest through the 4 events), because she had 2 tough assignments, she would be out. And considering the depth of the field in Italy, she could very well score in the 160s and still place 3rd if Julia and Courtney skate up to there potential. I also want Vanessa to make the final as well, but she needs to win here to even have a shot, and with her tiny jumps, I'm afraid lack of GOE might prevent her from placing higher than 2nd (unless Zijun and Polina get hith with lots of URs again - which is very possible, but I still think one of them will win if they skate well, regardless of if Vanessa goes clean ). And even if that happens, one of the other medalists will likely be out of the final as well! Ummm
