The 1961 Nationals Podium Medal placements by Discipline.

Say,did history leave us with that? Do we KNOW the final results,in order. As far as WHO placed what in each Discipline? For example...do we know the Gold,Silver and Bronze Medalist for the Pairs. The Gold,Silver, and Bronze Medalist for the Ice-Dance,etc.? BTW. If indeed only the Gold Medalist were headed to Worlds that year, are there any surviving Medalist still alive? Prior to just making the Podium, but NOT getting the Gold? If so,who?

    FSWer:

This should answer your question, it lists all the podium placements. The US sent 3 skaters (or pair of skaters) in each of the 4 disciplines. The only medalist who was not lost in the plane crash disaster was Men's bronze medalist Tim Browne, who became ill and was replaced by the 4th place finisher, Doug Ramsay.

    Hope this helps!
