"They were certainly running out of gas towards the end" (Where was the oxygen tank?)
When you are up to your arse in alligators it is difficult to remember you were only meant to be draining the swamp.
"She/He should be happy with those marks."
Wuz held up bigtime. No way that crap skate deserved those marks.

"That's not how she wanted it to go" = "I want that four minutes of my life back."
"I found myself humming right along with the music during that performance."
(...well for the love of Pete, I've only heard it a million times and I had to do SOMETHING to stay awake while they stumbled and staggered around on the ice...now didn't I?)
"She/He/They are right there on the bubble" = "Bathroom break!"
"(Skater) left it all on the practice ice"= "You're a head case that can't handle the competition pressure"
"She takes her time getting into position" = "She has to be a diva and refuse to skate to her starting position when announced in order to demonstrate her deep concentration"
"The scores are taking a long time to come up" = "The judges have to stop playing Solitaire on their computers and watch the replays"
One of Hamilton's favorites... "She turned that triple-triple into a triple-double. Smart." (She would have fallen on her arse).
"There were some great moments in there"
(Had to look through all the falls to find it)
(It mostly sucked)
"Just being here is a great experience for her/him/them."
She/he/they really bombed that program.
My job requires me to be a juggler, but that does not mean that I enjoy working with clowns.
"WHOA!!! Well that was quite a throw! The audience stood as one to watch her go for that landing!"
(...well, actually they were trying to see which row she landed in...)
"Well...it was really awkward the way their music suddenly speeded up like that. Who would've thought they'd be able to complete the entire program in just eighty seconds! Remarkable!"
(jeez...that's the fastest waltz I've ever seen...they look exhausted...
"a lot more personality" (more famous name)
"very athletic style" (no artistry)

"She/he has worked a lot on [whatever big weaknesse that held the skater down for years]" -> (No improvement otherwise and no hope for better marks neither).
"She/he is still on the process of regaining confidence" -> (the program sucks and I don't see the end of the tunel).
"This skater is a great hope for [country]'s skating" -> (this skater is too young and yet faces a huge amount of pressure that will kill his/her skating career).
"That was clean and well skated" -> (that was technically empty !).
"Smart move" -> (the skater managed to save himself from a huge mistake).
"Such potential..." -> (skater never manages to demonstrate whatever the so called potential was estimated).
"There is such a special quality to her/his skating" -> (I can't explain it with coherent and professional words, but this skater has it).
"Obviously judges appreciated/disliked the program" -> (I didn't watch because I was in the bathroom or wherever it is a shame to be during a competition !).
"Now...you must admit it. We don't see THAT on the ice everyday!"
