Seems like it would make the most sense to cut it off at 4th or better next year for singles and Dance. Pairs has less events so you can still make the final with lower placement at one event.

Only the Junior gold, silver and bronze medallists should be guaranteed JGP spots, IMO.
Otherwise there aren't enough places for the skaters whose form has improved considerably since then.
The Gracie Gold situation is an absolute disgrace. Despite showing performances that would put her on 4CC/Junior World/World podium throughout the summer, she ends up with one JGP event as Ashley Cain is sent to two...![]()
Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Gracie!![]()
well a trend seems to be starting in the last JGP event for the U.S.ladies,=last year Vanessa only sent to one , but return and made it to final.
now Gracie who skated great won her only JGP event and won.
I think it was primary luck, yes.
In any case, Hannah Miller and Polina Edmunds were both listed as alternates for JGP #4 in Romania (Gold and Keiser were not listed until #6), so imagine what might have happened had Miller been chosen and medaled in Brasov like she did in Milan...
